i think the wings r to.... small... this beast is soposed to fly for miles and miles lokking for creatures to eat without getting tierd, make the wings bigger any moodeler

I was just thinking, if you're going to make this race, you should probly have a map to put it on. I was thinking I would make a map then put up some screenies to show you, see fi you want it or not.

Anyway, nice work on the models, I like it so far. If you are going to make the Youngblood you have to make it so that he carries a gold sack and lumber. You could have a Kodo as a unit, perhaps siege.

Ok, let's see here:

1. Models are going pretty slow. I'm having a lot of trouble making unit models with 3dsmax 4. I'm trying though, so we'll see.

2. I actually want the stone drake to be smaller than the bronze dragon. (Like the size of a drake in-game) I don't particularly like the dragon images in Warcraft. They look way too fat to fly, and certainly not frightening enough. I want to make the stone drake look sleek, fast, and ferocious. (A body shape a lot like the felbeasts in the LOTR movies)

3. Cool skin, Phoenix. I'll call on you when it needs an official skin. (Personally, though, I think it ought to be darker)

4. Definately, frostigt. The wings on the WC3 dragons are WAY too small. The stone dragon's will be much larger.

5. Cool, Runemane. I'd be happy to have you make us a map. I've been just running the tests on a tiny little map I made, not pretty at all.

6. Essentially, the holes that still exist in the tauren tech tree is a third unit built at warrior garrison (like knight or gargoyle), another unit to be built at the mudhole (some sort of animal), another unit to be built at the Tribal Council Chamber (A fairly high-tier, well-equipped tauren), and a fourth hero. Any suggestions? Perhaps wildkin, Mok'Nathal, or some other race?

Finally, here's a new description of a rennovated War Kodo... (No longer a siege unit. Now kindof like heavy melee/support, like Mountain Giant)

Support/Meat Shield: War Kodo - Gigantic Plains kodos are a beast of monstrous strength and enormous durability. Their capacity for carrying supplies is immense and their sheer size a major deterrent to all enemies. The tauren employ War Kodos mainly to move supplies and to frighten enemies into submission. A tauren atop the kodo hurls long javelins at foes, but the creatures really shine in their ability to intimidate entire armies, causing them to hesitate and break off attacks. Just the presense of one of these gargantuan creatures frightens enemies, lowering morale.

I was just sitting here doing my physics (copying it anyway :P) and I thought of a forth hero...

For one, why dont you just use teh TC hero already there, I can understand you want to make the whole race completely new, but you would be removing part fo teh race taht has been there since teh beginging of RoC.

Srength Hero: Totem Wielder (possible name change) - This lumbering beast holds the symbol of the tauren tribe on his back, invigorating those around him and pushing them to greater feats of strength and endurance. Being the totem carrier brings great honor and requires great wisdom and srength.
Skills: Aura: Totem inspiration: Gives units around him more armor and perhaps a little speed (I know u already have one like this, you could cahnge it or reject it)
Ultimate: If he dies, the Totem Wielders spirit lingers on and fights for a time until he must pass to the great beyond.

Just tryin to be helpful, and Ill have that map completed on teh weekend, dont really have much time during the weekdays.

Third unit: Kodo rider or perhaps just the siege unit (like the orcs and night elves have in their main barracks)

What if the kodos could be used like a mobile lumber mill, the youngbloods return lumber to it. They do use it to carry supplies and stuff, don't they? It also allows them to be more nomadic.

Good ideas, guys. I like the totem hero's ultimate especially. Like a better metamorphosis, but only activateable when he dies. That's a good idea.

Kodo lumber mill is cool, too. I was thinking that for third tier they could have a mobile town hall, essentially. (Not nearly so durable, and cannot make workers, but recieves gold and lumber) Would have to be very slow and expensive, though.

i can model again :) so if you need any model edits done, just ask, and i will do it, although it would be helpful if you had MSN or AIM, so we could chat instantly, and get model done, but oh well, ask away TiJiL, and you can expect me to do it as fast as i can...

oh yeah, i think you should make the Wild-kin be with the Tauren, and perhaps make their be a fit tauren that rides on a kodo, throwing stuff...

and ideas are popping out of my head for races, so ask if you still need race ideas when your done with this, and i will tell :)

Ok, Gerundok. You get to work on the stone drake. Take the bronze dragon and make it much sleeker. Make its wings larger, its tail longer, its neck longer, its head smaller. For reference, look at the felbeasts in the Two Towers. It needs to look fast and deadly. I'm not sure if this model can be done with only a model edit, so let's see. I figure, now, that I should explain my thoughts for some of the units in-game, rather than in-context. So, here we go: (All of these are still up in the air, these are just my ideas. Tell me if you have any yourself)


Youngblood: Slow worker, carries 15 gold and 20 lumber. Start game with four. Armor upgradeable with standard tauren armor upgrade.
95 Gold / 2 Food

Brawler: Powerful basic melee unit. Low damage, high HP, unarmored. Can be upgraded with Truncheon, granting it increased damage and a splash attack.
250 Gold / 4 Food

Hunter: Ranged unit. Low armor, high HP, high speed, high attack rate, low damage, can attack multiple units at once. Starts with 10% evasion. Can be upgraded to loot, allowing it to gain a small monetary bonus from corpses, and bola, giving it an attack with increased damage that stuns enemy units, 10% of the time.
180 Gold / 20 Lumber / 3 Food

War Kodo: Powerful ranged unit. Low damage, high range, high HP, high armor, slow speed, slow attack rate. Starts with Intimidate ability. When cast, all nearby enemy units cancel their current orders. Can be upgraded to have Dishearten, an aura which will lower nearby enemy attack speeds. Perhaps it should also have a beneficial aura to friendly troops? Can be upgraded with Monstrous Strength to increase HP and movement speed.
400 Gold / 150 Lumber / 6 Food

Beast of Burden: Mobile Town Center. High durability, slow speed, no attack. Can recieve gold and wood. Can be upgraded with Monstrous Strength to increase HP and movement speed.
600 Gold / 200 Lumber / 4 Food

Siege Ram: Low range siege unit. High damage, high attack speed, slow move speed, high HP, low armor. Can be upgraded with Pummel, which gives a 10% chance to stun all nearby units with an attack on a building. Can be upgraded to cast Concussive Blast, a highly damaging attack which delivers an initial damage to a building, and then slowly crumbles the building away for a minute afterwards.
275 Gold / 125 Lumber / 4 Food

Tauren Warrior: Powerful tauren warrior. High HP, high armor, slow attack speed, slow move speed. Can be upgraded to be able to switch weapons from mace to hammer. Mace has slightly higher range and damage and a splash attack, while hammer has greater speed and bash. Can be upgraded to reincarnate at 250 HP after a 30 second delay.
425 Gold / 150 Lumber / 5 Food

Stone Drake: Fast anti-air air unit. High HP, high armor, high move speed, slow attack speed. Can land to deliver a flamethrower-like attack to ground units and structures. Can be upgraded with Terror on Wings to increase flying form's attack and move speed. Can be upgraded with Geodermic Shell to give partial magic damage immunity and a chance to completely block a magic attack.
400 Gold / 200 Lumber / 5 Food

heres a hero you could use, and perhaps a unit


Hero:

Spirit Chieftain[needs a new name]
Mularf Windlord[name example]
Spells:
Iron Will - the tauren calls to the earth mother for guidance, every level put in increases the tauren attack speed and health
Furious Stomp - the tauren does a mighty stomp, and the targeted area gets blocked from any movement.[i know this is possible - it has been done before]
Revival[uber Ancestral Spirit] Revives 1 dead units on the first level, with 50% of its health, and then at the next level 2 units at 65% health, then the next with 3 at 80%
Ultimate - Passive, the earth mother grants the hero with an aura type of spell, damages units nearby 3 health per second, and it lasts forever

hope you like these spells, now for the unit.

Phoenix, any help at all would be appreciated. When you say 'make units' do you mean model/skin/conceptualize/what? Just wondering.

Good job so far on the drake, Gerundok, but it's not there yet. The tail needs to be longer, the neck thinner, the chest thinner. Make the area where the wings touch the torso thinner. Finally, make the fin on his head not so tall and make it flush with his spine. I will post a drawing of what I want today, if I can.
