Blizzard's Christmas Present = TFT 1.13? Think first!

First of all, a note for anyone who can't find the file: Make sure that you have set up Windows to display hidden and system files.

Although the code isn't (I think) malicious, it is damaging to mine (my CD writer won't work at all) and many other computers. So Blizzard has broken the law. Anyone suffering because of this would be fully within their rights to take legal action against Blizzard. And unless the Justice system was perverted in some way, they would win.

Blizzard, you'd better talk to us quickly, you've already lost some long-time customers because of this, and more will go soon (me included).

Oh yes, of course Blizzard intentionally installed a trojan on your computer! Yes, Blizzard. A respected game company is going to put a malicious program ON your computer which can be easily found. Please for the love of Betsy, think before you make accusations like that.

I did think. I'm not saying that the program is a virus or a trojan, and I severely doubt it. What I'm saying is that if Blizzard refuses to tell us what it is, who can really know? And it has stopped me being able to use my computer properly. Oddly, my XP Proffesional machine was un-effected.

Apparently the thing is not in the standalone patch that can be downloaded from some less legal sites. If you've downloaded the patch through connecting to battle.net, there's a fat chance you have the file; when looking for it make sure you have windows set to show hidden and system files.
So, in fact, it only really affects the people who have TFT legally and can get on b.net; that's just great! Well done!

Since they decided to update the copy protection (which I can't understand) to such a new and not that much tested version of Securom, it is Blizzards fault. I can only hope they will undo that soon.

It breaks the EULA for them to this as well...just like to let somebody know as it cicumvents our use of one legal back up. If anyone wants to we can probably sue for this.

If it breaks the EULA blizzard is in big trouble now, I hope they rush and release a clean patch in less than a second (Speaking in Blizzard's time scale = next three days)

There EULA says your allowed to create and use one backup for your own use which you forfiet upon selling, throwing out, or returning the product.

Since old securom wouldn't allow you to play off a copy, this meant that you can still use a disc emulator. New securom won't let you play off a copy or a disc emulator, meaning I can NOT use my back up violating my EULA.

I'm actually not sure of that as I have no idea if sony created a mac version of securom. But to suffice to say I'd be on the lookout for odd files that your comp starts using.

To bad you can't do jacksh-t of WC3 editing with a MAC, you guys should download Alcohol off kazaa, it makes cracks for stuff. (Delete this post if you want, but I'm just adding my 2 cents)

Good, please leave soon and rid us of your stupidity. You're a complete moron and know nothing of the law. Please, go and try to sue Blizzard. I'd support you 100% just to see you act like an idiot in court and waste a whole lot of money on a lawyer...So go on with your ignorant knowledge and leave these forums forever!
