Concerning Grammatical and Spelling Errors. Using the "English is not Darky's first language" excuse doesn't work. If someone would proofread RotD I could imagine it would be a very tedious task having to find every dialogue then check it for errors. Also Darky has provided us with what few other campaigns do, voice overs. Thanks to JesseCox and others his campaign is more like the blizz campaigns. Darky has also done so much for the campaign in terms of gameplay and custom stuff. You shouldnt not play RotD just cause of a few grammar errors and bugs. |

that wasnt my point. my point was: if he's gonna make a high quality campaign that has intrecut trigger systems, variables, custom models, skins, icons, abilities, etc...he should have taken his time making the dialogue also. Quote:
Thanks Jesse, but that wasnt my point either. Quote:
thats great, but one bad thing in any campaign (anything really. one bad thing in a skin, model, icon, map, campaign) cancels out every other good thing. its not worth it to see all those models and skins go to waste. and before anyone goes off on a flame war, just let me tell you this: everyone has a right to their own opinion. please respect my opinion. if you're going to hate me for not liking RotD just because im not praising my lungs out when it came out, good for you. go burn a copy of my avatar on paper and hate me on your own time. now, i understand all that mod-awareness rhetoric that "oh dont hate it cause it has bad grammar" but hey. thats just me. im not trying to sound mean Darky, but good luck next time. -flames' |

You do realize you just said "don't play RotD because of the spelling errors", right? I can't believe that this was beta-tested so much and these bugs/poorly implemented features/grammar errors got through. The thing was "done" for about a month anyway so he could put it in a magazine. I wonder what the magazine will think 0_o. Quote:
Walk him up to the rocks/support-beam and he will teleport into the maze and your view will change. |

wow. i'm really disappointed of rotd. stopped playing after the 3rd map because there are so many bugs and wrong words. |

No matter how many bugs may or are in it, you should just try and keep playing until the end. Maybe it'll end up rewarding. I'm still at lv5 though :P I don't got the to go on |

Its a fun game, i am really dispointed by the bugs, but I understand they may be hard to catch, even if it was beta tested. For example, if you write a short story, you KNOW what its supposed to say, while you read through it, not slow enough, your mind makes the words correct as you read, you may miss many errors. The bugs i found, are all trigger related. And ones you wouldn;t think do, such as, flying kazham over a rock and letting jet pack run out. Or, leaving the spell book open at the end of a mission. As a creator, I know this from exp, I have to make my self do things that may not work with stuff like, try everything there is that may screw it up. The game is very cool, just ignore the spelling errors and listen to the great voice acting. And try not to die so you don't ahve to load, it messes alot up. Keep playing it gets better and better. the mosst fun maps IMO are, 3, 8, 9, and haven't beat 10 yet. |

So far I'm near the end of level 4, and here's some more bugs I've found. So far, the story is quite entertaining. 1. When you revive Kazaam should he die from the Jet Pack running out, his backback disappears. 2. Sometimes the alchemy spell destroys Kazaam'a inventory when its cast. 3. In level 3, the gray arrows should be over the northeast small circle instead of the northwest circle when you get the first teleportation orb. (As a side note, it should be more clear how the orbs work when you get them.) |

I just had to say that Jesse's outtakes rock, especially the one where the music suddenly starts and he is like WTF? |

My game crashed when I tried to save my game. I had just killed the golems that were guarding the last 3 generators in level 5 (fun map with cool maze concept, but I had problems with the controls and the camera in that section). On a more fun note, here's some interesting pieces of bug related information. 1. Bugs that cause the game to crash, make it impossible to finish, destroy inventory, or other severe effects are called alpha bugs. 2. The combat system for Devil May Cry was inspired by a bug that was discovered during the development of Onimusha where enemies would get tossed in the air and be juggled. 3. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic had over 40,000 bugs that were detected and fixed during its development. |
