Hero / Spell ideas needed for AoS/DotA map. Part 2 - Almost Finished.

ok, the protector spell in my version acts a bit different. It doesnt shoot lightning, instead I gave it the phoenixfire?? (the spell similar to immo) and I changed the model from wisp to huntress,nashia (the huntress blades, which spins)

What I edit is. Shockoffset = 200, dummy unit's speed = 400, move type = fly, ShockAmount = 6, SystemDegree = +7.5 instead of +12.5. I barely have pathing conflicts with this setup, (but I never tested with 8 protectors though)

I just realized the dummy map was yours to begin with Zoi, with the changes in the above paragraph that I've mentioned. If you still want the dummy map, just ask and I'll PM to you to the link

Now the lag issue. You mentioned that 1 dude had lag, and the other barely feel it. Its most likely he has a shitty comp (I'm sure you know that already) I also think the 8 invsible feral spirt that castes the lighting also caz lag. every .5 sec and all 8 feral spirt(FS) shoot lightnign will caz lag. My solution is that change it every 2 (or more) sec <----(this will probably only reduce minimal lag) and somehow make each FS attack at different time to reduce lag. But I fear the latter solution will require many more triggers. Example: every 1 sec, create feral spirit at shockunitarray[1], every 1.5 sec, create FS at shockunitarray[2] etc.....

When I tested my version of protector spell, I didnt notice any lag nor did my 2 friends. More test will begin soon, as soon as I fix/find anymore minor bug/errors.

Ok, so phoenixfire shoots at an enemy without stopping to attack? I'm not real familiar with this ability(and a few more in TFT), but I imagine it's on the phoenix unit, right?.

Yeah, the guy who had lag must have had a bad comp. A few of the others said there was a little "lag spike" when I first cast it, and a small drop in framerate from there on, but nothing bad.

That's about the extent of what it does to me... just drops my framerate a little bit. Nothing really noticeable, unless there's a LOT of other stuff going on too. My Ruination lags worse than this to me.

I'd be willing to give up the lightning if I could get this lag-free, though.

Lol, I'm nocturnal too, my usual bedtime is 3-5am, but somtimes it can go as high as 7-10am. looks like tonight is the latter one.

I didnt mean to mislead you Zoi, phoenixfire can be found at the regular ability under humans>unit. Basically its a perminate immolation, I didnt use immo caz then I would have to setup a triiger to order unit to cast immo, (must easier this way) This fits well with my version of protector spell, since I used the huntress blades model, it gives off the impression that the huntress blades dmgs nearby enemy units per sec. (and the dmg stacks)

We are very much alike Zoi, as far as I can tell from this forum. Actually, I'm very white, lol. I do like Asian culture, and ESPECIALLY Asian women, though I've never had an Asian girlfriend :( I'm an hour away from Nashville. Two good friends of mine moved to Tampa a couple years ago to get into the club scene there and start DJing. Haven't heard much from them since, though(I'm horrible at keeping in touch).

So phoenix fire is basically perm Immo that stacks. That's what I had previously thought(perm immo). The way Laz was talking made it sound like it actually shot something =P I see how it fits yours with the blades, though. I'm probably not gonna mess with protector for a few days, just so I can clear my head, and actually get some other stuff done instead.

There are two versions of Phoenix Fire, Zoi.

The version I was talking about is on the Phoenix, it randomly shoots missles at nearby units and lights them on fire.

I believe the other one is like an aerial immolation.

For the record, my comp is pretty bad. However, it does meet the requirements for WC3, and when Zoi casted the Protector spell was probably the worst lag I've ever had in any game (except some Tower Defense maps where you don't need to control anything at that point anyway).

In case you're wondering, the aerial immolation-type ability can be found in Special - Units.

Ahh you guys talking profile - I'm 18 - Viet - M - Yes - Very Nocternal. I'm pretty much like FF with the sleeping thing but now i got classes so i can slack off. =(

Currently trying to fix protector. Set it up to move(instantly). If I set it to run every .10 seconds, I get no visible framerate loss, but it looks a little choppy when i move. If I set it to .05 seconds, the animation is very smooth, but I get a framerate loss. Overall it looks even BETTER than it was before. There are no more invisible casters. The lightning actually comes from the wisps, and it looks perfect. The only thing that doesn't look as good is when I'm walking. You can tell that it's moving them based on my position, and that they aren't actually moving themselves(using .10). I will probably set it to .10 to help keep the overall game running smoothly.

Lazarus, one of my ideas for a replacement for the protector was kinda like what yours that you PM'd me.

I found some differences between the UD and the Human spawns. The banshees only had 500 range to the Sorceresses' 600. Priorities were different for many of them, as well. Those have been fixed, and hopefully the Human side no longer has any advantage. If it's not fixed, it would have to be a spawning or pathing issue.

I'm going to try to get Slam integrated into 11H. This is going to take a while, though.
