sorry for my loooong stall in the unit spells but i havent been working on it...I have started a new campaign type thing. Its Twisted Metal: Black WC3 but i will start again on the spells today...and also we should make a health and attack thing like this kinda (example: just say the orc grunts health is 50 and its attack is like 10-20, the attack will be in the middle off it so 15 attack power. The settup would be like this 50/15...kinda like a MTG setup insted of the strength, speed, and intelligence...that makes it hard)

phew.. i read through page 4 then couldnt go ne further. I think this is awesome. I've always wanted to make a card game and my friend and I are always talking about rules and stuff. so I could help with rule ideas and like if ur still having trouble with how to display abilities, it would be nice to have all 4 abilities on a card, but i haven't actually looked at having 4 text boxes on 1 card. I think pokemon maxed it out at 3 and text was getting sort of small by then. I can't draw and im to young to be in the official company thing. but Nathan, i think it was smart how u went ahead and figured everything out before asking blizzard so you knew it would work and as you said it didn't take much time at all to figure out. I'm gonna go read page 5 and see if this post is meaningles..
edit: aha, we're making it simple. i guess thats good but i like complicated things. You guys are suggesting counters and stuff like that slider. I'm almost Positive that will at least triple the whole cost, Nathan may know, but you do need something. I think that what we need is a big plastic playing board or whatever so you can write stuff and erase it. It would have all of the spots for everything and you could write a units health next to it.
ps. just so you know when you got into buildings and everything you started to touch on what my friend and my game would look like ^_^

Dude, this owns, I'd like to join the team, although I don't have a scanner right now and I'm not the best drawer, I can help in ideas and stuff. I really hope that it'll go good in the end, I would really like to see a WC TCG.

I just wanted to say one thing about Warcraft CCG on the net. A few years ago I made a Warcraft 2 CCG and you could download the cards on the website and there was a weekly booster pak offered for download. It was quite popular, enough for STARCRAFT.ORG and INFOCEPTOR and WCLEGACY to put news about each release ...

... but one day Blizzard's lawyers decided to send send me some little email, and those who will remember that CCG back then (They also told me to close my DIABLO CCG one), will also remember that those same lawyers shut down the project saying it infriged on Blizzard's copyrights and intellectual property.

Basicly, I had to shut down the website, stop distributing the FREE DOWNLOADABLE cards or face a lawsuit that I wouldn't possibly be able to fight against nor did I wish to. So just be careful with this project because if it because popular, you will one day receive an email by Blizzard saying that they'll sue you if you don't stop.

You are lucky that it was blizzard who did that.

Believe it or not, but the company Wizards of the Coast owns a patent on Trading card games in almost all forms and they defend it like killer bees. There are loopholes in it if you look for them hard enough, but Blizzard I think did what they did to protect themselves from a possible bankrupting-lawsuit. WotC doesn't mess around with TCG companies and trample them at will. The makers of YuGiOh, Uppper Deck Entertainment was recently handed their butts because of thier highly successful bid to develop YuGiOh into a full-fledged TCG from the YuGiOh! comics.

My advice to any CCG/TCG makers is to 1.) download and print out the patent from the US Patent Office, and 2.) Ditch anything in your game resemebling Magic the Gathering. beyond deck construction.
