I think if two abilities have the same position, one is shifted to the right. But the idea of a thread with a wish list is good although I don't think we will get new things such as that at the current state of War3 (how long the current patch takes shows that they do not have a lot of manpower in War3 any more). |

I haven't utilized this idea... But I think it should work. About that thread... Where it should be created? On this forum or another? |

I guess since it will mainly deal with JASS wishes create it on this forum. |

Just wanted to thank you guys for V1.8. I'm hard pressed to think of another mod crew for any game this dedicated and committed towards long term development. I ran across AMAI last May and you're still going strong. AMAI remains one of the greatest RTS AI extensions ever made. I don't know how you managed to cram in some 'smart' micro onto top of the hardcoded tactics but its now really starting to pay off, I do see a marked difference in battles lately. Some sort of formal recognition, and informal support, from Blizzard is long past overdue. Course if AMAI were to be featured in battle.net's news your servers would crash :) Warcraft AI best experienced with AMAI! So says this oldbie (again). Keep up the great work and thanks again! |

Everyone knows AMAI is the best AI ever :) |

Very very good is AMAI now :) |

ug, I cannot beat the 1.8 Insane AMAI anymore. But what can you do when you're having 50/50 and are at mid tier 2 and then there come a 100/100 army with tier 3 upgrades? |
| 11-05-2003, 10:01 AM | #114 |
Take a beat :).. |

I have no idea on how to beat a situation like that but somehow our betatester WargH can handle it and continues to complain about "AMAI's lacking AI" and asks us to improve it even more. :) |

I can't beat AMAI on Normal, it is because I spend more time making maps than playing melee games, and I am so sure that a good Ladder Player can just own insane AMAI, but it is still better than a lot of RTS AIs that come with the games. |

Actualy thats not the case, I tried out AMAI on some high level ladder players I know and some even got beated by normal skill siomply becuse AMAI don't play like the avrage opponent they are used to go against. I think the best way to beat AMAI is to play aginst it a lot of course. Get used to what it do in different situations but such possibilities we are trying to eliminate by making AMAI play as random as possible but still only use the most effective ways to solve problems. |

There are still some ways of abusing the way the hard coded AI behaves that we will probably never be able to fix completely. But then if one wants a challenging game one should not use them. |

Is it possible to set up AMAI to play against another AI script? |
| 11-08-2003, 09:03 AM | #120 |
Yes, but due to the changes to the common.ai you need to merge the AMAI common.ai with the standard common.ai or the common.ai of the other AI. I have written a program to do that and posted it some time back (it needs .net so if there is interest I can put a merged version of the AMAI common.ai with the standard common.ai on the site). I also wrote a Blizzard.j that starts the game again and again after it ends, stores the result in the gamecache and displays them in multiboards. That way you can run AI battles while you are gone or something. |
