its exactly like skinning, only harder, you extract the terrain you want to skin and then you gotta be real careful to make sure it melds properly. Its very very antagonising. |

The updated stone drake is pretty cool, Gerundok. I'm almost done with my drawing... Do you have 3dsmax? Runemane (did you know that was a tauren last name in one of our previous projects? Kindof intersting, that.) Alright, Phoenix. Once we get the tech tree hammered out, and we get a good map or two to utilize, I'd very much appreciate if you'd create the units. (That's particularly tedious to me, and I make the aformentioned sorts of errors out of sheer laziness, so you'd be a great asset) Also, any help you can give us with the tileset would be great. I think, for the tauren tileset, it should be like a fertile, red desert. (Think oklahoma terrain) More plants than the barrens (and thus a grassy tile or two), but red substrate. (2 reasons for this: 1, red desert looks cool. 2, I know a tauren city to be Redrock Mesa) So, if you and Runemane would do that, that would be awesome. No rush, though. So... I think I've addressed everything... As always, any suggestions/help on the techtree would be appreciated. |

just thought of another siege weapon idea. A kodo beast with a demolisher on top of it and a tauren walking beside, the tauren fires the demolisher, it would be highish polys, but would look uber cool. |

Ok, the map is finished, the one vs one one (<--- :)) Anyway, Im going to start work on another one, probly 2v2, bu tright now, Im going to go test this map, see if it is good for normal races, l8r Oh, and TiJiL, that cool, cuz when I get WoW, my character will probably be a tauren shaman whos name is Taur Runemane. If your chars name was Taur, then Im blown away, cuz thats would be CraZy! :infth: |

Cool. I like the map. Comments: 1. Creeps are cool. I like the Razormane waiting in the gauntlet area 2. Watcher rune is VERY cool. Good idea. I think, though, that a more powerful creep ought to go there. 3. Nice to see a bronze dragon roost. I don't believe I've ever played a map with one. 4. There should be creeps at the fountains of health. 5. The flat plains areas (in front of both bases) need more detail. Other than that, looks very professional. Good job, Runemane. |

Thx, took me about 3 days of working on it for about 2 hours everytime. Ill go edit it now, I thought that since the fountain was right in teh middle there, that it shouldnt be defended, but w/e. Im kind of confused on the flat areas in front of base, could you tell which parts? I ahve an idea of which, but Im not sure. Pheonix: What tools do I need to extracte the proper files to edit, then to import them back into the game? Kinda new to all of this extracting, importing thing. |

The areas I think need to be detailed are circled on the picture below. To extract files, I suggest WinMPQ. Kindof a pain to set up, but a godsend once it's done. Now, for my query: I am getting back on the modeling from scratch business. (Got 3dsmax 5 working. I'll model there, then import to and animate in max 4) I'm going to make the Thaumaturge hero image. So, I need some suggestions for appearance for him. Essentially, he's to the spirit walker as the farseer is to the shaman. He represents the pinnacle of 'spirit walking'. So, a fairly similar appearance is probably in order. However, I want to use an aspect of a WOW concept. (Posted below) I like the little colorful finials. Other than that, I think he must wear a jerkin. Any suggestions on his looks? Thanks. ![]() |

i use Image Extractor II for skinning and exporting, importing use the WCIII TFT Import Manager. |

The hero I think should have perhaps the kind of thing the tauren spirit walker has, the lantern kind of thingy. Or perhaps, a staff like the one tauren has in the image below. What are teh tileset file names? I mean like thistile.*.* what is it called there (the .*.*)? |

I feel I ought to post some of my ideas for the Thaumaturge hero. (For those of you that don't know, Thaumaturge means 'performer of miracles') These are spell concepts, etc, still up in the air. Just my thoughts. Thaumaturge Intelligence Attacks land and air 600 range Fires orangish 'magicy' dust Looks like brown tauren with leather armor and feathers on, as well as a long spear. On the back of the hero is a number of bags and packs and such. Spear has a bit of tauren horn hanging from it. Spell 1: Unknown (shall edit this when an idea is decided on) Spell 2: Earthen Shield - Creates a dome of magic, protecting all units beneath it. Level 1 - Adds 5 armor, 15% regeneration Level 2 - Adds 6 armor, 20% regeneration Level 3 - Adds 7 armor, 25% regeneration Spell 3: Unknown. Perhaps an aura? Ultimate: Spirit Walk - (Passive) Gives a 33% chance that an allied tauren unit near the Thaumaturge will return temporarily as a spiritual version of itself. (I just think this would look awesome. Obviously, the spiritual versions would be of lesser strength than the normal units, but this would be one hell of an ultimate) Just my thoughts so far. I'll probably edit this as we come up with stuff. What do you think? Oh, and Rabid, you are welcome to join us. The more the merrier! If you want to help out, perhaps you could create for us a little banner we could put in our signatures? Oh, and Runemane, the improved map is much better. Thank you. |
