WC3 Warehouse Best Skinner of 2003 Poll! *RESULTS*

Well, consider, and explain the reasons. I mean, you'd claim it to be some kind of 'popularity' contest if nothing was anonymous. I didnt exactly break anonymity... the only people to notice I posted did so late or after the conclusion of this poll.

But back to popularity. Anyone can ask all his mates to vote for them behind the scenes.

STill, you got 5 nice skins for your website, and some dude's gonna get some pseudo-points that can't actually be spent in this place. What's left to win? I got most votes, that says enough in my mind.

Hey all, heh. Nice competition. Congratulations Whitehorn on your votes.

It wasn't easy for me to keep quiet the whole competition while 'comments' were made regarding my skin, but I somehow managed. I want to explain to you that the satyr model is really not the best choice for a competition like this one, as the head is huge while the rest of the body is not only tiny, but repeats 4 ways (twice on the front, twice on the back), not to mention the screenshots were taken with his tail sticking out like a rod from his posterior - he looks much more charming otherwise. ^^

The skin was meant to be a chimaera, a blending of three creatures into one monster, that I thought of before even considering this competition. I did create the skin for the competition, though. I found the Satyr model to be perfect because it was fuzzy, had hooves, and had a lion or goat-like tail that was just what I had in mind. Though it may look similar to the original, it was 100% reworked without a single bit left untouched - it's simply the right model for the unit concept.

The chimaera generally has parts from lion, goat, and serpent. I was trying to make his face look similar to an Eastern dragon, but it ended up looking more demonic, which is fine with me. The shoulders/arms/tail are lion, and the legs/hooves are goat. This definitely was not the kind of skin I am known for, and it was a lot of fun to try a "monster."

My second mistake for this contest was to do my skin in normal resolution, on an already poorly wrapped skin. Had I thought about it, I definitely would have done a 512x512 skin (something I've been wanting to do for ages, but had no reason to, as ToB does not use them). Perhaps if I enter any competitions in the future, I will remember. =)

Having skinned the Satyr twice before, I echo your woes with the skin and its wrapping, but I'm glad you did a nice job on the unit's head, as I had a few problems doing the face, to look more humanoid.

Wolverine's was high res, custom model. Mine was was just over 2 hours of a creep skin :infth: Truth be told, the restriction of this competiton was having to give the skin away for public download. I have better skins that are exclusive.

another thing is how do we know it was actually all wolvering (really Mavrik). Hes infamous 4 trying 2 pass off a bunch of skins as his when he actually c n ped them from othwer gamez and such.
