Skinning Technique Factory

Hello again people

This is a little something for all of you who despair at the sight shading muscles.

Here we have our basic image


Ok, first thing we do is make some layers.

1: create a new layer | 2. Set it to Colour Dodge | 3. Set the opacity to 50%

4: create a new layer | 5. Set it to Colour burn | 6. Set the opacity to 50%



.:':. Step 2 .:':.

Now its time to slash some shading on it. Select the Paint brush and set it to these settings:


1.
Here I have painted shadows (pure black) on the colour burn layer.

2.
Opposite of the last step, highlights added on the colour dodge layer.

3.
Keep adding smaller shadows and highlights until it looks right : )



And with a little practice, results like this can be achieved. (my current w.i.p. skin)

I have one that I have used in the past. It works for me, so I figure, why not let other people benefit from it?

Right about now, i'd do almost anything to learn how the alpha editng transparency thing works...i've done everytihng you have told me to do but it just wont work.please help me with this there r sooooo many things i wanna change with some of these guys -.- ...

by the way below is an attachment to an illidan file i'm trying to MAKE transparent. so far i jes color modded it. :\

Well, its time to help out all the newer skinners. Since i know ps well, skinning is alot of fun...Here is something i hope will help us all.....

Well here is my long awaited lava tutorial. The 2 colors I used are at the top right. Sorry if a step is missing or something, but you should get the idea. Some of them may be a little messed up because I did this backwards, so, sorry. And sorry but I dont know how to make the picture big, so you will have to click. Sorry for that extra second of time wasted ^_^ .
