Likewise here! DK, are you sure you fixed this yet? What wierd is that it is fixed now for some people, but not for others . I had to download it three times, for crying out loud! :nono: |

I tried to dl it multiple times but Winzip and WinRar kept getting errors and such so I thought it was just my computer. At least it's good to know I'm not alone lol. |

I had the cinematics all uploaded to MechWarrior's server. I just checked and he has deleted them already (cause DK had uploaded all to the Wc3C server)! So we have to wait until DK uploads a fixed version to the Wc3C server! :( ~ Nuladion PS: Deathblood, I like the Links page on your site ;) Thanks a lot! :D |

Both me and DK reviewed it, and neither of us are "against new things" lol. Quote:
I know that, and in my review I pointed out how there was very little character development and how only two people cared about the moral dilemas and the fate vs choice dilema and both gave in to the war effort with little resistence. I graded you on your genre's staplepoints from war movies etc and you had almost none of them. Quote:
Sorry, but for future reference a TEXT RECAP OF WHAT YOU MISS THAT SETTLES NOTHING AND HAS NO REAL RESOLUTION WHAT-SO-EVER qualifies as the worst ending on Earth. Shit, anyone here can end their cinematic with "The battle was fierce" blah blah. I sure as hell don't want text endings to become some kinda trend, and seeing both you and Shooter do them really bothered me. Quote:
-3 for total and complete lack of sound effects is getting off easy when you think about it. Shit, if you get -3 for no sounds and -3 for no music, you'd STILL have some points lol. Sound effects are essential, that's a pure fact, and when War3 comes with TONS of them there's just no excuse. Quote:
That was DK's comment. I personally beleive that it is entirely possible to do a cinematic without battle scenes, shit CotN 1 was like that. The main problem with this was that you spent over 20 minutes hyping up and setting up for a collosal battle and then cheesed your way out of it. Quote:
What in the almighty crimson hell are you talking about? There wasn't much "new" in this cinematic. What did you do that was new? If you're talking drama then DK's already done it. If you're talking moral dilemas than Blizzard has done it. If you're talking text endings, then Shooter did it too lol. Seriously, there was little new here except for a few of the special effects and the plotline itself. And furthermore: VoodooO's map was far better than yours, because he had everything you did, and more, and special effects, and sound effects, and action, and more charismatic characters, and more character development etc etc etc. Heart of Evil was simply phenominal, and only had a handful of errors like the naive treasure hunters telling everyone they meet about it including a greedy fuedal lord lol. Other than that it was FAR superior, it was even better than CotN in my opinion. And I was surprised that all three entries were serious movies. Shit, can't anyone do comedies anymore? PS: VoodooO, I'd say you got the Witch Doctor because he's a Voodoo Priest lol. -Insaniteus- |

LoL I aim to please. I got bored so I made that entire site in about an hour in flash. Then I go and look at all the countries that visit it and there are some far out countries visiting it like countries in Africa, south America and so on. I'm overhauling the site as we speak to incorporate my new project idea that I hope will turn out good. But other than that won't be changing the links or anything but I may add some, smaller font, aligned correctly, etc. Anyways I got the zip file to open properly so all is not lost! At least something on my PC works! Hmm this reminds I should post what would have been my cinematic entry if I hadn't lost two weeks due to my PC being stupid and such. I think it could have been a contender but hey what do I know? |

Guest | Okay, the more I hear the more I want to bang my head against the computer just in case that it is considerate enough to electricute me after the tenth time, LOL. I'll be leaving soon and I STILL have not seen Heart of Evil. DK, are you sure you fixed the zip? |

@ Insan: please i do not want to hear your opinion any more on how VoodooO's cin totally blew out mine. I can see a few explanations but still... Encaliel was the first cinematic ever to have no battle or fighting it was the first to have a "dvd" menu, the first to show a vision. Dude, DK has not done drama. CotN's story is worth diddly. did u have the volume muted? i had sound effects, i had music. did u hear the sea ambience at the begining? did you hear the volcano exploding, the seagulls, the wind and intensity of the vision? did you here the beautifull music in the scene with the father and daughter, the powerful music of the vision, the sad piano of the end? dude where were your ears? OMG, Heart of Evil better than CotN? hah... Edit: i am sorry if this kinda sounds like a flame. I do not mean it in a angry way, just a "what in the world were you thinking" response to the explanation Insan posted. |

I had comedy... lol the sheep, damn that was lame. Not even any special effects. But I think I've learned a lot since I made that *cough*no more text endings*cough* |

Hmm, Im downloading Zurgs cin now.. havent seen either of them. And I dont think Im in a position to say annything about this but here it goes: From what I see of the discussion, you all need to chill for a while. If zurgs cin is as amazing as he says it is (which I actualy belive) get off that high horse.. its good to point out things in an argument, but boasting about it isnt the way to go. But I must agree that the judges seem to have had a very narrow mind when viewing the cins, and not beeing willing to expand it later when that was pointed out.. Annyway, who cares about my oppinion. |
| 07-06-2003, 07:29 PM | #134 |
Heh, yah i prolly should chill. I wasnt trying to boast about my cinematic i just wanted to point out some stuff to the judges. so dont go into the cinematic expecting it to be really incredible or anything. |

@ Insan: I also thought the Voodoos cin was better than CotN. CotN is almost the same thing in every part, over and over again... (Eccept terrain, of course) So Zurg, realize that you are defeated! :bgrun: |
