A bit off-topic, but has anyone noticed that the Warcraft III Forums in BNet is like dead? They moved up Blizzard Posts, PLUS, traffic of messages is unusually low unlike before. The New AMM may have discouraged Warcraft III players...

Try re-sorting the Blizzard replies by "latest reply". I wonder if your thread view is currently sorted by "most replies".

Hello

Will there be new strategies for the ROC version of AMAI 2.1 ?
Or will there be only bug fixes ?

I am looking forward this new release as the 2.01 was already great.

Well all general changes in the AI like bug fixes to expansion system and such things we make now applies to both TFT and RoC version of course, its' the same AI.

However I have limited the time spent on new strategies and such for RoC since it's not that much used now a days and I don't know how to play there very good, but with the release of 2.1 anyone can make own strategies to TFT and RoC and get them in the official AMAI releases if they are good enough. I hopefully will add a few strategies and features to RoC from TFT as well.

Thanks for the new version, 2.10! BTW, may we also see the "ReadMe" of the Developer Edition. I remember AIAndy saying he will make UI design changes (e.g. Make it very usable at 1024*768, change font, etc...). :D

Nice work for the Strategy & Profile site! :-) Questions: If the icon of the profile or strat has "AMAI" in it, that does automatically mean it's available in AMAI out-of-the-box? E.g. If I upload a strategy not yet in AMAI, will it have a different icon?

This new AMAI is wicked. I just got harassed by about 5 ghouls, and then the Orc AMAI harassed me with 2 wyverns. I don't remember it harassing with air before. It seems like it's playing twice as good now. I'm wondering how I'm going to beat the new AMAI. Great job as usual and thanks very much.

No any AMAI files in the list get the AMAI icons, but you can see that I have comments on all standard strategies I uploaded that they are already in official AMAI. However they are all out of date now and I don't know if will reupload them again any time soon, takes time with that many strategies.

Hehe I was hoping it would be a bit more of a challenge now :)

We was thinking that if we can't make the computers play good by copying human gameplay we might be able to use some of computers unique potential when it comes to unit control. (they can control a unlimited amount of units anywhere on the map at the same time as you can understand)

Oh and thanks for your support, really nice of you.

@thenonhacker: I tried to make it automatically resize and failed and then I forgot. I'll put it on the ToDo list. Maybe I'll just optimize it for 1024*768. That should be the right resolution for most people.

Was the Paypal link added with this new version 2.10 or has it been there for a while? This was the first time I noticed it anyway. And you're welcome, I just wish I could give more. AMAI has entertained me for so many hours I had to do something.

I played a game after my last post and that was even more impressive from the AMAI. One team sent about 6 riflemen deep into my base. I thought they were going after wisps I had in the far corner of my base, but their real purpose was to be a decoy. When the riflemen were way in my base, both AMAI enemies coordinated a simultaneous attack on my expansion and destroyed it. There was nothing I could do. I was stunned at how cunning it was and how well executed also. I'm going to have to kick my game up a notch somehow to even win games against this new AMAI. Thanks again for all your hard work and this new challenge.

Yes I added that paypal button just after the release of 2.10.
Don't worry you gave more than I was expecting from anyone, really nice suprise. :)

What you just got a taste of was the new "diversion" attack tactics, that means that AMAI sends a smaller group of units to attack one of yor bases and try to lure your army there, while it waits outside another of your town with it's main force and will attack there once it has lured your army as far away as possible from the real target. Works suprisingly well I think :)

My first AMAI crushed , not only defeated but really crushed !

It is my best game on ROC , i never succeeded to play like this before, AMAI had no chances at all i made no mistake ! :D

I was Orc and went to Blade Master to test his abilities against the Undead AMAI.
An early scout showed me his location , then AMAI rushed my base with a Dread lord and several ghouls , but i forced him to flee as his Dread lord was going to die to my defense (Burrow+Blade Master+Grunts)

Then i went after him , producing only grunts as a global strategy. I managed to kill the Dread lord but as the ghouls (followed by recent Crypt Fiends) were a bit too much for my actual army i ran away (but not too far) then i came back again, and again and again :)
His Death Knight was killed , the Dread Lord was killed , his armies of Ghouls and Crypt Fiends were killed.

The Blade Master well used is really awesome especially on small maps as Frostsabre , i never believed he was so good , i made no other heroes during that game and killed the 2 Undead Heroes and their armies several time !

As a personnal choice i didn't went to kill AMAI Acolytes during my numerous attacks, as i consider this as an AI exploit, that choice made this crushing victory more enjoyable for me.

I was so happy by my first crushing AMAI game that i want to share the replay.

I attach the AMAI 2.10 version of the ROC Frostsabre map (this way even someone that has not installed AMAI can watch it)
Create a new folder in the Maps folder of your Warcraft install , name this new folder AMAI (if you fail to do this, the replay will not work)
Extract the map located in the attached .zip file to this AMAI folder.

Download the replay located in the next post and extract it on your desktop and double click on it to watch the replay directly (that is a good new feature of the patch 1.15)

If you have any comment on what i can do to improve my strategy on this game, i will be happy to read it.

/Comment on AMAI.

That is my 3rd game against an AMAI Undead on Normal Level.
Each time , when i assaulted the base (even in late game) i noticed that no one of the 3 different AMAI profile i fought ever upgraded his ziggurat.

Not upgrading the ziggurat make the life of an Undead base very hard, as i can do what i want in the enemy base without having to care of a focus fire of the ziggurat.
And when you have units with siege damage , the Undead Base can be easily hurt without firing back.

Is it something you forgot in the packaged strategy or is it a bug ?

You guys gave very good feedback, and makes me want to go to my home province now to try it! But I have to be here in my city for office work. :( I'll place in my feedback as soon as I play AMAI this weekend. That's also the time I can watch FieldMedic's shared replay. :)
