Not bad. I'd make the hood more prominent, seeing as it is one of the defining features.

i forgot something of dire importance in my description of the Calos.... the men wield claymores in battle. 7 ft long claymores..... (in ancient scotland, the scots used claymores as long as 6f from tip to pommel, so mine 9 ft high behemoths can wield 7 ft blades)

beware my pwning power

Playing around with my jungle warrior idea. They strap bones to their wrists to serve as a primitive form of gauntlets. The bones strapped to the underside of the wrists serve as hooks for climbing the tall trees. They do the same with their mocasins, strapping the claws of giant sloths to them to aid in their climbing. Dunno about the fur skirt. I like it, but it doesn't really serve much of a purpose. I'll keep it anyway. The warriors also wear the skins of the most ferocious jungle animals, killed as a rite of passage.

Most weapons are made of bones, as metal is hard to come by in the deep jungle. However, veteran warriors usually have one or two metal blades, salvaged from distant fields of battle.

I don't really like the fact that he looks like he's dressed for a snowy environment. I'll have to think of something...

Fixed up the earlier painting. Added light beams and changed the costume slightly to fit the above concept... I dunno if you can see it, but he's got the pointy ears now.

That would go to 'Blessings' category, i didnt feel like creating 'enchant people' when blessings have same effect.

Basically, I was seperating out Divine and Arcane magic according to the source of the power. I also tried to emphasize a difference between the two. I'm too tired (Chemistry is giving me trouble again, and I don't mean academic trouble) to type it all out, but here was the general gist.

ARCANE: Arcane spellcasters tap into a pool of reserves, and keep casting until they either run out, or are too tired to tap into the pool anymore (depends on the source).
When magic of different arcane sources is mixed, the results can be wildly unpredictable; sometimes beneficial, sometimes destructive, but always massive.
Blood Magic: Casts spells through the natural pool of mana that generates within themselves.
Dark Magic:Gains mana from the death and decay all around them.
High Magic: Taps into the natural flow of magic (often refer to "flows" of magic, and "nodes")
Pact Magic: Taps into the magical strength of a more powerful being (such as Muoteck's wizards).
Passion Magic: Gains mana by drawing out the emotions of others, through music, art, or . . . something else. Darker passion magic feeds on negative emotions, though there is no tangible difference between "light" and "dark" passion magic, merely a preference for positive or negative emotions.
Rage Magic: Amount of mana dependent on intensity of a certain emotion (typically anger, hence the name).

DIVINE MAGIC: Instead of a "pool" of mana, whenever a divine spellcaster wishes to make magic, he calls upon his patron (or meditates deep into his core beliefs) to bring the desired effect. The more this is done, the more increasingly difficult it becomes, until the patron denies all requests (or the spellcaster is too drained to call upon his faith).
The strength of divine magic's effect depends on the strength of both the caster's and the target's faith. Someone of a different faith tends to be slightly resistant to the other faith's magic.
Deific Magic: Spellcaster calls directly to his god for favor. His strength is with his god directly, so he always tries to spread his religion.
Faith Magic: Spellcaster does not speak with his god directly, or follows an abstract ideal instead. Divine power comes from faith in the divine. Becomes more powerful when surrounded by colleagues with the same fervor for his beliefs.
Nature Magic: Similar to deific magic, only the "patron" is the communal spirit of all life and elements in an area. Sometimes this, too, ties in with a god.

I might think of a few more for divine, but it could take a while. Was going to look a little into psionics and magic items, but am too tired.

What do you think?

Well, it would fit to my system, every race could have their own way to gain energies, it would be up to race creator... These would be classes that race created for their purposes, mages without this would gain energy from easiest/nearest source i think.
Nature magic would be primitive divine... For example for some wild tribes with faith in spirits or ancestors, this kind. Good system for detailed information, but names and sources should be up to race creator. We're not making D&D game here.

Sorry, I'm a sucker for the details. I wasn't really trying to give specific names per se or whatever, just making generic brands to each group (because Rage Magic is alot easier to remember than Magic #5).

Basicly, I was trying to see things from Horusrogue's race's point of view (you know, he said they had to study everyting . . .)

And I did try to move away from D&D, tried to make divine different than casting. BUt oh well. I've got to go to class, and I've tried a little contribution. Thanks for the input on my suggestion.

I'm going to create my own magic called enchanting then, I don't like "blessing". My people arn't even religious. Blessing is too religious. And cursing is too wicked.

Update on the kobrani - seperated the Pros/Cons out of characteristics, added a small section on Trade, and added the Four Powers sections.

Invent your own magic, Moon. I think that's half the point of the current magic system - everybody's magic works differently, but we're just trying to second guess how it will work. Since Saboera isn't allowing definition by schools like Enchantment, my guess at your system would be High Magic/Blood Magic, with a distinct favoring of spells that enhance your allies/belongings. It's definitely arcane, though - they only added "arcane" to the word "magic" so people wouldn't confuse it with the priestly "divine" magic.

And it would be really nice if Beam or anyone contact Rod for the previously posted stuff

Mild note of curiosity: What is the next step after Beam makes the map?

By the way, there are currently eleven races (there will be twelve when Beam officially adds his). They are all listed on the first page. Do we need more?
