example, load -> choose a file save -> myModel.x then import it in any x file reader such as MAX6, or convert it with some program to 3ds or do whatever u want with it ;) Working on the look and feel though : ) |

No dice mate I load the M2 Converter, save, open up Max, File>Import>Choose the file... ![]() Am I just retarded? |

Ok, andy if it really does not work, cause the importer form max is not so good actually, download the meshviewer from Microsoft DirectX ( can be found in the SDK for free ), it opens the x-files perfectly ( I just tried it : ) ) then save it again as an X file, you will notice that the size went up about twice the originall one. Then try again in MAX. Else, get a(n illegal) copy of Unwrap 3D v3.15 and export it to 3DS : ) |

Hey, mapper, I used your X file export code, converted it to VB.NET and used it to convert the mqo model files from Final Fantasy XI to X so I can look and study them : ) Works Super !! |

Whell ppl sorry for no response but I've been in vacation! Taylor you can start doing the interface for the app and I'll try to make the converter to export the files just as the mesh viewer does. Also I am going to start the (crazy) work on a WOW Edit Studio. With this app you would be able to view, place and export everithing in wow. OF COURSE YOU CAN NOT USE IT FOR COMERCIAL PURPOSE, I'M DOING IT SO THAT I LEARN HOW TO BUILD A GAME WORLD!!! Taylor, if you want, i could use your help. |

Try doing it in C#.NET cause not all features work in .NET if I use your code of Borland. And, YES of course I would be glad to help ; ) |
| 08-23-2005, 08:07 AM | #248 |
Whell I'm using c# because it's allot easyer than c++ but more powerfull than vb. I'm going to use DirectX for the rendering but so far it wont compile the samples from the sdk. I don't get this: why didn;t microsoft include the .net directx dlls in the original directx sdk! The borland c# builder has an export and import feature for visual studio project files so there is no problem here ![]() |

Ok, then no problem with the Borland C# code, btw, the community stuff from sourceforge, where can I find this. |

Man 3D is hard even though the directx exists for the .net framework!!! About the converter, here |

That is an amazing tool, I just love it when you import the animations. |

No Andy ... I'm not dead :D Just have some irl problems .. Ayane and me are still working on mdl importer, and it works =) We juste have some problem with non-linear transformations but this problem can be solved if we convert controller into linear controllers. Acathla's marine was imported with this script. When we'll solve this problem, we'll release the script, tha imports wmo too :) |
