[NEW] MDL Importer !

Hey all !

I'm actually doing an MDL Importer.
Only the Statue mode is finished yet, but i hope that the 2 other modes will be finished soon.

The statue mode imports the materials, camera, collision shapes, lights and the structure by geosets.

Wow, nice work !!! If it passes the testing it will save me more than 20 minutes. Downloading now. "Animated" mode will be uber. Well done ProFet.

Your tool is for 3DSmax true ? Quell version of 3dsMax need the tools, will it work with 3dsmax 7 ? And are you French ?

@Kalkhran, yes i am. But we are on an english forum :)

@ar]Mage : i dunno when it ll be finished, i'm still working on separation of the differents part of body.

Hi everybody !

The Import Tool wasn't cancelled, on the contrary, it is almost finished ;)
That tool will be able to import the Warcraft3 models in 3dsMax (working on the 5, 4.2 doesn't work), the import options are :



Not finished :
- Animations (some works, others not ...)
- Ribbon Emitter
- Textures Animations





Some others modding tools will be released :
- Event Object Editor : contain lists of all MDL Events (ubersplats, footprints, etc ...) (sounds not listed yet ^^)
- Animation-Visibility Editor : to quickly create NoteTrack Keys and add visibility tracks on meshs

I think the script will work with last versions, but art tools aren't compatible with 3dsmax6 and upper. :\

do you need the art tools to do this, or does the script draw certain things from the art tools, thus making it impossibl to use without the art tools?

hmm do you think you could make it work with max 6-7, so the materials, particle emitters2 and ribon emitters, wouldn't be imported?

so that's why you need the art tools right? well yes i think lots of ppl could live without those things...

P.S. why did blizzard name it particlemitters2?

No the script don't need the art tools, but you'll need it to export the model.

Blizzard named it ParticlesEmitter2 because the 1-type exists, the emitter that create feathers or the flesh when gryphon and wyvern die.

can we not do that with things like dex script and the mdx exporter?
