Wow. Frankly, I'm really looking forward to this project. I've just started skinning, so I'm not going to volunteer, and besides, I have a project of my own that I'm working on, but still.. wow. I can't wait to see what comes out of this! And designing maps for something like this would be a lot of fun... aye. I'll keep an eye on this thread. |

Guest | Well, PhatTim89, The 'loader button is nicely done, but I am of course looking for original artwork, so I'd prefer to see you do something that I couldn't just do myself. I've just scanned a motherload of pics from the technical manual, so I'm going to put them up for art references as soon as possible. KDEWolf: Oh yeah, I remember your work now; you did that Marine skin and the high-tech DH. Shw33t :ggani: . If you can do skins or buttons like that, that'd be great. I'll email some of that artwork to you today. If you can do at least some stuff like that for AvP:WC, you're in. :D |

Guest | Sure, I'll keep you in mind for art, terrain, and spell editing. The Blades Icon is nicely done (is that original art? It doesn't look like a screenshot, at least), but there's not much color and the fist is hard to see. If it were like how you have it now, just with more definition and the like, it'd be good. Also, you mean terrain as in you can modifying terrain art, right? Because I have quite a few new tileset ideas to use (including interiors). I ought to write them up for you. And that reminds me; while it'll certainly help to write up the rest of my model design outline, sinse we don't have any offers for a full-time modeller yet, I should write-up a list of Icons and buttons that need to be designed, since we technically have 2 artists working on the project. I'll definitely do that for the Marines ASAP, along with putting up the tech manual pics I scanned. Untill then, the unit overview pages can suffice for more testing and such. EDIT: Marines Overview page updated with lots of new pics. |

are u hosted??? |

Guest | Ummm.... Yes and no. :bgrun: 'Yes' in the sense that I have had three pages for all the units/buildings up on my personal website (look at an earlier post I made here, they're listed). And unless GameProc or someone else sets something up, I'll probably keep it there. 'No' in the sense that not only is there no main page, but the html is a jumbled mess with crappy image links (I converted an MSword document to html, and it adds lots of extra coding). Other than the potential crunch on my bandwidth, I am hoping people are looking at the overviews for AvP:WC. Everything that is in the game is in there (I didn't write 36 pages over for people to assume I don't have anything for them to work on ).So check them out. |

Guest | I you send me some more idea on what you want , Then you can count me in Darkdevil |

Guest | I'm having trouble understanding what exactly you mean. Do you want more model design descriptions, like what I have for the Powerloader (posted on GameProc's AvP:WC Forum )? Or do you mean more visual references on my webpages (see links in my signature), such as from the Technical manual, or perhaps screenshots from the film? Since we also have 2-3 other part-time modelling offers, I have been currently working on the model descriptions for them, but I can get more pictures later this week, as well. |

Guest | Well, untill I get responces for specific model or artwork information, I spent about 4 hours writing more unit descriptions for the basic Marine unit: The Rifleman, both with Pulse Rifle and Incinerator. They can be found on GameProc's AvP:WC forum, in their own thread. (my signature provides a link, as usual) ...Assuming anyone's interested in reading 4 pages of modeling and animation descriptions. ![]() |

Guest | I haven't done anything really new today. Just some more scans from the Technical Manual that will be good modeling references. KDEWolf is working on a new website for AvP:WC. I saw the page he had done for today, and I'm quite impressed. Once we get a finalized logo done, it'll look perfect. Here's a second test logo, which I'd say has better protraits and visual balance than the first. |

Guest | Also, if anyone's got a hankerin' to check it out, I've pieced together a scale comarision of several Colonial Marine vehicles, taken from the Colonial Marines Technical Manual. Starting from the left, The APC is of course the personell carrier seen in Aliens. The Longstreet light tank sketch is merely something I pieced together to get an idea of what its size and basic shape should be. The Ridgeway is a fairly recent addition to the USCMC (previously only seen in wide service within the US Army before the 2180s). It is a heavy tank, and the most powerful Marine unit available in AvP:WC. The Jackson medium tank is an older type, most likely being phased out by the time the game takes place. Again, just thought I'd post them for anyone interested in something visual to look at. My predominantly text-based updates must be getting pretty boring, but they're necessary taks to get done before preliminary modeling can get into gear. |

Soooo, what do I do now? |

Guest | ... We are still waiting for you to submit acceptable material. The skin was not the kind of quality we are looking for, the Powerloader button was a simple crop and resize job, and the other icon was simply too vague and indescernable to be a good example. If you're capable of better, I'd reccomend submiting an example map give an example of a modified spell, or work on unit/ability art. I'd also like to note to everyone that KDEWolf has recently put up part of the AvP:WC website (there's a link in the AvP:WC forums on GameProc), currently hosted and adminsitrated by him. The Overview pages have not benn put up, as I am still collecting proper pics to use for it. The ones on my personal site are still available, though. |
