Not only does it only work locally (or to those who have the custom MPQ archive) but you need to keep track of your mpq files. The 3rd party software would be a good help to this, but still, as DEMANUFACTURE said it isn't worth it for a 10 second loading screen. |

Guest | now what you wanna do is... give the mpq with the new loading screen file to others to replace there mpq then they will have the new loading screen aswell. or... Put the new loading screen file in the map using winmpq and then give the map to people then they will have it aswell. hope that helps at all or im a idiot hehehhe |

You're not an idiot, just confused :P. Anywho, I'm going to see if I can track down that program. I'll let everyone know if I can find it :). I may just be getting confused though, as there was one for starcraft. ~kharma |

Guest | Hum.. can it be done now?.. i thought we all did agree on that the only way to get loading screen on other computers was by adding it to the mpq? emote_sweat hmm.. it would be cool if you only needed to add it into the map!.. That would give much more new loading screens :D |

Guest | I'm REALLY REALLY not sure of this but I think that if you can found the good file (a file wich contains loading screens information) and you edit it, you'll be able to have you custom screen. Edit: I think you should look at UI\war3skins.txt |

Guest | i have now extracted it but the it looks more like the skin that you have when you play the game.. :\ |

Guest | Yes, i know that but i think there is something in it. look at xxxMeleeScreen (in the file) it could interest you. |

its not that its just the fact that no map carries info in its mpq files about the loading screen...so u cant edit the loading screen unless u change the war3.mpq and i am going to try and create a program for doing this or maybe i can imbed info into the maps mpq archive...this is getting complicated..lol |

Darky, care to elaborate? |

I think Darky is toying with all of us. You've got about 10,000 people ready to storm your place of residence unless you tell us how you got it to work in Multiplayer. :D |

Just to let you guys know, there IS a way of getting it to work on bnet, and everyone who has your map, will se the loading screen... 1. First you extract a. Credits-Loading-BotLeft.blp b. Credits-Loading-BotRight.blp c. Credits-Loading-TopLeft.blp d. Credits-Loading-TopRight.blp 2. Convert them to .tga 3. Edit them in Photoshop or PSP and save them 4. Convert them back to .blp 5. Open the WinMPQ that comes with W3M Map Utilies (http://w3m_eng.wo.to/) 6. Within the WinMPQ open your map (only w3m will work) 7. Add the files to it, and make sure the path is correct (UI\Glues\Loading\Backgrounds\Load-Credits\) Thats it! You should now have a custom loading screen included in your map. |
