XP is generally the best system for anything because it has mor functionality than anything else out there. 98 would be a good choise if your just making something plain and want the people still stuck at '98. Compatability is the only reason to choose this but as you see in your poll this shouldn't prove much of a problem. ME is just a huge upset... like Microsoft trying to go mac. Macs in general blow, no power in them they are made to be very easy to use if you never used a computer before and that's about it. If you have used a computer before using a mac will feel like cutting yourself with small knives over and over again, then bleeding to death. Something you forgot is Linux... better than mac and more stabler than Windows NT/9x. So to sum it up: NT = potential 9x = comapatability Linux = Stability Mac = better off making it for MSDOS i would go with Windows XP if i were you thought. |

1) No offense against Mac users, OK. I'm no Mac user, but we have to treat them with respect in this forum. If you offense them, you'll get problems with mods like me. 2) Linux is not here, because Quantam wants to program game-related tools. As you might know, Linux is not good for gaming (yet). 3) NT/2k are also not good for gaming. Especially on NT many games didn't work. Only 98/98SE/ME/XP are recommendable for gaming. |

i play on both xp (it sucks) and 2000 NT technolgy is so reliable but a lil slower ( i hate microsoft for all there bugs in windows but the great stuff in NT) |

A properly installed Windows XP with up-to-date bug- and security fixes installed and a stable hardware provided ensures a WinXP which hardly ever crashes. |

Did i really insult any mac users out there? I thought i would get a "wow, he compared macs to MSDOS response". But of all seriousness, macs are made specially for people who have no idea how to use computers, that fact is undeniable. 2nd of all, XP is just the new version of Windows NT, fused in with a few of the better qualities of 9x. |

XP home edition is the newest version of win98 / ME XP professional edition is the newest version of win NT / 2000 |

XP Home Edition is actually the same as Professional with less features. It got nothing to do with 9x/ME. Only that MS added certain multimedia stuff from 9x that wasn't there in 2k. |

I have 98 on all my comps exept laptop witch has XP but Windows 98 is the best for games since it has the best server ability to run them. |

I admit, I love 98... but I move in favor of XP. Not because of it's frankly wierd windows look, just for some extra speed and shortcuts. Windows Traditional Theme is fine for me :) |

I dont really like the windows classic theme, i use the windows xp theme. it looks a lot better. |
