What OS do you use to play your games (particularly SC, D2, and War3)?

I voted for XP, but I ´think I know what you want to do. I tell you my opinion about it:
You can't stop supporting 98/ME. I know that there are certain functions from the API, that are only available on 2k/XP (I don't know which ones), but you can't make a program that's just for 2k/XP. That would not be appreciated.

You forgot one.

Windows Server 2003.

But make it for XP anyways, since that's what most have.

Doesn't XP have 98 compatibility's mode? Dunno if it work well ( so far its ok for me, if I remember right, I have played D2 on my XP ), but in that case, continuing devellopment for 98 is the best choice IMHO.

Servers aren't designed for gameplay and 2003 is still on early stage ( its XP server BTW and so far I can't see much differences with 2000 (mostly the GUI, but I haven't go far enough to be sure) ).

Millenium is sh*t :P

You can't say that in general.

@exN:
It hasn't got to do with that. Programs developed for Windows 98 also work on XP (in the very most cases). But some programs specifically programmed for XP (using functions, that are only available on XP) will not work on 98/ME.
That's because Windows 98 has the version 4.x (don't know the exact one), ME 4.9 and XP 5.1 (don't know the one 2k has, but I think 5.0). So 98/ME is the last generation of Windows. NT was 4.0. 95 was also some 4.x. Some might remember Windows 3.11.

@Feral_Demon24:
We are talking about Windows programs not about Mac programs.

@Quantam:
Putting Win95 here was nonsense as newer games like Warcraft III don't work on it.

In fact, Windows workgroup ( 3.11 ) is actually NT technology "ancestor".
its more like there is two windows "families" Windows 9x/Me and NT technology :
windows 2.0 -> 3.1 ->
9x family [ 95 "chicago" -> 98/98SE -> Me ]
NT family [3.11 -> 3.51 -> 4.0 -> 2000 (5.0)]

and now there is only XP (5.1) but... there is home (less features ) and Pro ;)

I love XP pro, I haven't seen a Crash in moths , I remember when I had Win98, It was like "I wish it doesn't crash today" OS.

May be it has something to do with my Computer but who knows.

The Best part of Windows XP is that I can run both windows 95/98 and NT/2000 Software .

Please don't make a program Windows XP only unless it is completly neccesary

I may love Windows XP but as soon as I get the money I will buy a Mac For sure.

I actually miss windows 3.11... well it's much like "nostalgia" Like when somebody says that Starcraft was better than Warcraft 3 You know. *prepares for a flame rain *

I have both 98 and XP Pro installed and no one of both ever crashes. If something crashes then some software, but not the OS itself. OK, on very rare occasions software causes a crash.
