awesome. :D are you gonna make a multiplayer map? cuz i think that would make a really fun paintball type map. (there's one kinda like it, but it's not as cool, no reloading, and moving around is ridiculous... you have to click where you want to move and there are various extremely large hills that really mess you up) maybe you should make ammo a power-up item that gives you a lumber (which would be your clip count) so you have more space to carry important items. |

I was once doing a similiar map, but with no unit, and the screen moved on it's own, kinda like area 51. But I like yours better. Good luck. |

Yes, it is a multiplayer map so you can try to get out of the forest with up to 5 more players. :) All the tough triggering (camera, movement) is done for all the players, so I just have to add content now. I have to cover a 256x256 map with a forest, and some puzzles is all basically now. I am also working on some skins for monsters too so they all look different. Rough progress chart would look somthing like... Terrain - 14% Units - 65% Triggers - 50% Bug Test - 0% Once I get area 1 done I would be glad to publish a small beta of it. Oh ya, I also through in some music fro Resident Evil to make it more moody, its approx 45 second (looping) and 300kbs, so that shouldn't kill the download time TOO bad, but it's worth it. |

Hey, I could use some help with things. :) I am looking for skins (since I am not good with skinning :'( ) for zombies, ghouls, and male villagers... basically anything you can make look really bloody and undead! What will you get for helping me with this? Well... I'll give you credit, and i'd be glad to show you alphas / betas of the map as I test it bit by bit. :) You can submit your skins to me via PM or Reply here, a screenshot of it on the model would be nice, but if you can't just the skin will be fine. :) Thanks. Here is the zombie skin used in the screenshot above, so you have a general idea of how things turn out. BTW, this is NOT the base skin, you should have all your files in .tga format not .jpg or else it will be hard to implement. Thanks again. :) I would use lumber as clips but I want the person to be REALLY careful with what they carry, so the game is more difficult and requires more stratdegy. :) Lumber is also used for the alternate gun type, which I will reveal later. hehe :) |

I have a headless zombie skin, but it only took a few mins to make, so I think you can make one of those :gsmile: anyway, you should have custom gold graphics to clear up confusion like night of the living dead has :D Good Luck |

Yes! that is a good idea, I will replace the gold with a bullet icon. Thanks. :) BTW Anyone know where the graphic is for the gold in the .mpq? I can't find it. |

Should be UI\Feedback\Resources\ResourceGold.blp BTW: you can change all that stuff in Advanced > Game Interface |

(Idea) You should make difficulty levels according to how many people there are or diffuculty levels that you can choose.. So people who want to play with only a few people over LAN can :D |
| 07-31-2003, 11:33 PM | #26 |
Don't worry, player 1 can choose the difficulty setting from Easy, Normal, and Hard at the beginning of the game. So it will be completable by any number of players. :) Btw thxs for the bullet. |

If it's going to be online, and have skins, then watch the file size. |

Bloody Ghoul: Nothing Special |

It's *only* 650kbs and the map Covergeance of the Darkness is 1.79 megs and that only took... a bit to download. (with high specs anyways) and with the map being doodad intensive you will need pretty good specs to handle it anyways so I predict the file will end up about 800 kbs. Yes, I know that is more than usual but with music (300 kbs) and skins (100kbs) it's kind of hard to keep it down. Don't worry, it shouldn't exceed 1 meg. I will also release a 'no music' version for you slow pokes. :P Very cool skin, though I think you should make the ghoul's skin a bit darker to emphasize his undeadness... but however you want it will be cool. Just send me the .tga of the skin and i'll check it out ingame. :) Thanks. my email is [email protected] |
