W00t! Thanks DK! Makes me feel real good :ggani:

I'd really love if you could post about it on the news! :ggani:
And becoming a mod here would really make my day too!

Oh yeah and btw Zurg, please don't tag my cinematic as a COTN killer. I consider you, DK, and myself as friendly rivals.

Secondly I'd really like to thank Zurg, DK, and MechWarrior.
Lets not forget Nuladion's name either as he beta tested for me too :)

Zurg provided me with alot of feedback on the beta and such. And he is a very good cinematic developer (as COTD is very cool :ggani: )
DK of course for this very in-depth review, and because if there had not been a COTN, I would probably have never made TToA a cinematic.
MechWarrior of course is hosting me so :ggani:

About the Fade-Filters, is 800x600 not the correct resolution for fade-filters? Hmm they're supposed to be 512x512 aren't they...

I will for sure update part 1 to have them, and add features like those in the next parts.

Iron_Ian

EDIT: Oh yeah and btw thanks for stickying this DaemonKillar.

EDIT 2: I should probably make my goals for TTOA clear:

1 - Rock the cinematic community with TTOA!
By doing this I will try to use original and old ideas, in a healthy mix. The storyline will be very complex but extremely easy to understand. Their will be romance, drama, sadness, and glory.

2 - Encourage people to use their imagination and skills to make their own wonderful projects :)
I also hope it serves as inspiration to the current projects :)

3 - To go down in Warcraft III history. I want people to be able to remember The Tale of Archon and the maker behind it.
I want to be known for in the following ways:
Being a creative and skilled cinematic developer.
Being a great inspiration.
Being a good friend, and an honest person.

EDIT 3:

***** Caution Spoilers Ahead!!! *****

Heres some stuff I will be fixing for the final version of part 1:

1 - At the end, stop the rain sound when it stops raining (I bet nobody noticed that, took me like 20 views of the cinematic to notice it.)

2 - Add just a few more orcs for the battle (a few inside the city), so that it will make it a bit more intense - Suggested by Zurg

3 - Add some warcrys and such during the battle - Suggested by Zurg

4 - Make the cameras much smoother (I guess I should probably play around with the camera smoothing factor trigger) - Suggested by DaemonKillar

5 - Resize the Fade Filters to 512x512 - Suggested by DaemonKillar

well for that camera problem, a good idea would be to make your camera follow an invisible unit @ 3rd person and refrecsh it like every .1 second to face the unit's facing angle. from there, you only need to make the unit follow a specific path and the camera will follow. You can add the smoothing factor to that too. This sounds a little unclear doesnt it?

BTW, about that Tag, Peter Jackson had his own "PJ approved" tag he used to determine if the material was good or not (in LOTR). It was just like this one :)

How many cin have receive DK Approved?

This own whohoo.
I was surprised to see the druid die
What did you do for the sound effect? Simply setting volume of X sound to 100 or you had to run each sound every 0.5 sec.

Good use of fade filter too. Just as DK mentioned, the camera on the road is too fast. There's 2 type of terrainer, one is for town and the other is the rest. Im good at town concept but i always forget to merge 2 or 3 buildings together.

DK, I find your town too unatural a bit too. But the map was made like 10 months ago soo it doesnt mean anything.

We'll see if Cotn part 5 stand to yours.:D

Question: How long does the cin last? didnt checked.

PS: Why does I have the feeling that if I say l]arkOne approved, nobody will care?;) You just gave me an great idea for one of the cin in HeroRPG.

Oops need to update the site with the time. It lasts approximately 10 minutes and 10 seconds. :ggani:

The rain sound is about 32 seconds long and I simply checked the "looping" flag in the Sound Editor.
Alpheus' horse sound is one shot and lasts about 25 seconds or so.

I though u were using 0.5sec sound like footstep and cry.

The scene when you see the horde make me shake. (which mean its good)

Question: Did you made your cin just after watching lotr too?

I was just wondering, anyone know why the news post DK made about TTOA was removed?

I think it's 'cause it's NOT a WC3C hosted project, and advertising it means the same thing as advertising another site.

Iron_Ian
Bah probably.

But revolutions was started by a member of WC3C. And who visits there??? The Wc3c cinematics community. It's more of a site for us to have our files hosted, and talk about the development of cinematics. Wc3c is for letting the community see our projects.
