I found out everything about this point system, and it's awesome, what will they think of next? :D |

i like the idea, but the title change by other users is bad. i think that should (if you can't 'buy' it back) wear off after, say, a week. also, if someone is not liked by the majority they may be silenced even if they have done nothing wrong (with the no points/no posts thing) |

it would also be cool to view the posts too and i dont understand this point system....... |

I like the posts better, but i might like this if you half nearly everything exept the change user name and sticky thingie. |

Its horrid. You need to post 300 times in order to change your title, instead of 50... You have to post 700 times just to get/change your avatar... You guys are just DEMANDING spam. |

I agree entirely, except that I can't even figure out where you buy stuff from :nono: EDIT: It may just be my computer, but it also seems as if e-mail notificiations for subscribed threads and PM's aren't working. I've gotten none in the last 2 days and I should have had AT LEAST 17! :nono: emote_sweat |

I agree aswell, and I'm not getting emails on suscribed threads, etc, either. |

Another couple things: It's REALLY cheap if I can change someone else's title. I mean, what if I decided to change someone's title to *i can't post what I was going to say or I'd be banned*? Why should it cost you to see the last place someone has been? Now, I could see that working it is was more like all threads that that person had posted on (which by the way I think you should add). Why should it cost you ANYTHING to change your avatar? I was thinking about changing it and then that same day this system went up :nono: Antoher thing is the fact that if you have no point, you can't post --what if I have 700 points & I buy an avatar? What if I decide to get a whole bunch of other people to hate KDEWolf (no offense KDE) and we do everything we can to get him down to 0 points, so he can't post? What about spamming? Your point system encourages it like crazy, especially for people like me who really wanted to change thier avatar or title or whatnot... What about people who forget to attach pictures in one of their posts? What if I decide to post in a bunch of different topics saying nothing but "wow" and then delete my posts? And since there are all these other things that are now being charged for, why not charge for every smiley? Every post with color? Every post with bold/italics? It's a good idea, but it has too many flaws and too much stuff that relies on/can be done by other people. I can see it working of it relied only on your posts and people's niews of your threads, and if the stuff you did only effected yourself--for example, 50 points get you a title, 10 an avatar, 100 italic name, 250 colored name, 500 glowing name, ect, but without the expense of losing those points. I'm sorry, but imo, the new system doesn't/won't work at all. |

i think that the stuff is a bit pricey, and some thing shudent be on there. Like the avatars ect, ect. |
| 10-26-2003, 01:19 AM | #25 |
Prices will be modified. Also, in a way, it helps spam, because if you spam or flame, users can take your points. Doing it for no reason will have consequences though. |
| 10-26-2003, 01:25 AM | #26 |
how... exactly... do... you... take away points? the rate button ins't working for me :/ damn java, but i dont like how you need alot of points just to change ur avatar or title, i think you should be able to change other peoples titles for a price, and it be free to change ur avy/title, the sticky thing seems insanely retarded IMO, you get to sticky a thread, but mods supermods have the power to unsticky it in 1/2 a second, and it does seem overpricey |

hehe... its pretty cool but can i just ask how da fuk did Ultimate Jim get 12000 posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 10-26-2003, 04:21 AM | #28 |
i bet he just added it in with his location like: location: blablabla then posts: 12000 by the way, the point system is great, but i really wanted to change my rank.... I CANT! its not under user cp... i tried doing occupation, but i guess you just have to pay those 500 points... |
| 10-26-2003, 06:35 AM | #29 |
cant you change it after 50 posts? or is the point system changing that? |
| 10-26-2003, 11:45 AM | #30 |
Sig files should cost so many points per line/point size -- that's one of the biggest annoyances on forums right there, is a one line post with a whole page full of dancing hamsters, anime babes and 600x480 lensflared handles. Instead of charging users to have an avatar and a personalized title, setting up a ginormous sig should cost some dinero. (Edit: Not Jim's, though, that's fun. :) ) |
