i think L337 speak should be banned from all chat rooms, message boards and multiplayer games. anyone useing it will be strapped to the "pole of idiocy" and he will be forced to watch episodes of pokemon and right every word in the english language until he understands that L337 and pwn3d aren't included. and, while i agree with you weaaddar, XIII is the best thing to come out of France;) -val |

in my opnion there are two noob "sorts" 1: those who accepts help and wants to become better by using the advice of more experienced players 2: Those who thinks they can do better than all the others, and does not accept any help from the more experienced players. The first one i like, many games could be won if they just have some helpful comrades. The second one is a pain in the @ss, and its not very easy for (at least me) to try to help such a person. |

well, isn't this forum meant to HELP people, not provoke them, or just call them n00bs... ? :) there are certain persons who like to talk 1337 and flame n00bs are...plain ignorant :) we were all newbs once, maybe not that much (e.g. how do i make new heros) but we all were :) helping newbies makes them more expirienced and....not noobs :) and what's with that gay stuff ? i certainly disagree on anyone calling anyone a gay person...it's predjudice (i think i spelled it corectly) and discrimination...ignorant ppl :) |

This is a good thread. People can learn from this :D Personally I think the word 'Noob' isn't a insult. Well, it can be said as an insult but pretty much every word can be said as an insult. But it actually just means that someone isn't as experienced as you or someone else. After all, it is unfair to call someone noob, because everyone has been a noob once. I never really named anyone a noob in anything (including WCIII) because I know I am a noob if I am compared with the best/better ones. I think people should remember that. Gay is just the same. It isn't an insult at all, there are people who are called like that quite much in my school, it is the main insult word. (None of those who are called gay ARE gay, as far as I know) After all, gays are just normal people, not much diffrent from other people IMO. (Hey, I know someone who is gay... pretty nice guy but I rather stick to girls :P) Thanks for the time Dark Dragon |

ya, in my school people get called gay alot, i think its wrong but in speach it just happens, like if somthing sad or stupid is done/happens i/somone might say "oh how gay" but it wouldnt excactly be an insult, but i think if taken seriously it can be offensive so just dont do it if you can hlep it :infth: |

@ss is an animal related to the horse. It also means a stupid person. I think we should use that instead of n00b or gay.(and yes I did have enought time to look it up.(I was bored)) I am stupid because I am smart. |

Well, being as I'm not exactly the straightest person around, I can see from experience how gay can be seen as an insult. Even though I'm bi, I still occasionally use the word gay to mean something so out of place it's practically stupid (which is actually the correct usage of 'queer', but let's not get into a whole discussion of archaic definitions). I do find it derogatory and unecessary, but it has become a habit from being around others who use it that way. I think when typing though, one has the time...plenty of it actually...to look over what they type and filter out a moronic habit. I don't think I've once called someone gay as an insult in textual conversation. People need to mature, they need to realize the stupidity of their behavior, and they need to filter it out. I like to believe this website has some sort of professionalism to it; if so, immaturity on the level weaddar is speaking of has no place here. |

Well put,:D I am pretty fed up with hearing newbie name calling fights and just plain losers, like having one join and as soon as i started building, he says "Leave now I will do better with out you newb," and the game had just started I said NO and he siad then i leave, what an uncool player who doesnt deserve to be able to play b.net I was pretty annoyed by that, some warcraft players seem to think there king **** or something and its got to stop.:cuss: |

Is there a filter that does that? I want it. |

Yes, it's meant for helping, unless you don't have thousands of points, in which you will be called a n00b anyway. I think it's gone too far. Most people who call other people "gay" or "n00b" have no idea what they're talking about at all. (Perfect example of this: Creep Movement Speed topic, scroll down to hiya's post, flaming AND not knowing what he's talking about) I personally think that "n00b" and "gay" should be filtered out on this website, and when typed, the filter would make it say "I'm a n00b/I'm gay and I have no idea what I'm talking about", and it should not be able to be edited. Then, it would be accurate. |

When you fags are done sitting around the campfire sharing your feelings, maybe you should become men and stop taking it as boys. Sorry, I couldn't resist saying something like that. :ggani: Maybe, you take it a bit too seriously, many harsh words of n00b, gay, black sob, etc. are usually said in a fluster. |
