Kirym just open the mdl in notepad search for material
then edit the second in the list that is beneath where it says materials.
Change where it says "Filtermode none" into "Filtermode Transparent"
If you can't make it work now I will upload a update of the model with that fixed.

Here it is. This ingame shot is with it 1x model size. The first ingame shot was 2x model size which I like better as it shows more detail... and its bigger.

oops... spelled ancient wrong in the picture...

I am coming for you yoda.... the unknown skinner will win this contest :D

Gonna give you come compitition on this one. My first WC3 skin though, so it is taken me a bit longer to figure out the small quirks. Just gotta talk a little trash :ggani: Nice skin though.

I am just doing some of the real detailed stuff now, like the hanging vine, and there is some weird crap going on... the way the skins were done is very much a pain in the *** as far as skinning goes. Not an excuse, my skin will still own :P, but in the future it would be nice a little more time was taken in unwrapping. Which is one other thing... does there really need to be like 10 polygons on the bottom of the feet? Oh well I guess.

what are you talking about? the unwrapping was great... as good as blizzard unwrapping (better in a lot of cases *cough*footman*cough*)

Perhaps I like this so much cause before I was working on the dropship skin which has h o r r i b l e unwrapping. Every piece I do i have to make a red dot on it, look for it on the model, then skin that part... then again I havent done any modelling or unwrapping so I shouldn't talk.

Okay, here is my entry, I went with a little more of a tree look, the all black didn't seem to give it enough depth for me. And sorry about the small in game shots at the bottom, first time I messed with screen shots, and I couldn't figure out how to do a higher res one. Hope the, flaming from the inside version looks good to yall. (BTW this is my first WC3 skin, so added feedback is more than welcome, criticism included.)
I know it looks a little "volcano-y" but I had more detail for the bark, and it just kept getting blured out, so I took out the detail to make it look a bit cleaner. So, after my trash talking :ggani: here it is.

Sorry if that bit about unwrapping sounded harsh... didn't mean it to, I like blunt criticism, and tend to be a bit to blunt sometimes with others. The overall was awesome, just the front leg, and the right arm were rather ackward. The top of the right arm seems to twist, causing a little bit of double image, and leg just streches, but I guess there are a lot of blizzard models that probably do the same thing. I too have never unwrapped so I don't know how difficult it is. Just ment to provide a little feedback :D

The Lord,
For this to be a real skinning competition, you should put up the .max file for the mesh, so the real skinners can unwrap the model themselves.
This makes for much better understanding of the texture and better texture usage...
And .tga form textures are standard, I cant see why we have .blp files to texture from....seems kinda backwards.

Anyway, I will only skin another model if I can unwrap it, or if the current unwrap is better than what I could do....

Hope you understand ! As an artist you should...

Peace,

I'm afraid that won't be possible the max file got corrupted when I was doing the final stuff on the model.
According to dirscreet this happened because of some incopabillity between a windows update and 3d studio max.
I'm sorry.:(

I'm sure you meant no offense by inferring that real skinners are only those that can unwrap a model by themselves... But some of us "fake skinners" might take offense to that.
