I've read here and there in these posts; and although I find myself feeling slightly lost and wondering: "Wow, what is this 'DK2' they are talking about?", I can't help but think about...helping. I was thinking about making ground textures a bit ago...So I wondered if you need help with that? I can skin as well, but I'm not as confident with that...PM me to tell me what you think. Welcome aboard! I'll find some DK2 sites so you can see what it's like... I'll be back soon. I'm fairly confident with my skinning abilities. DK2 was a 3D RTS from 1997, it has lots of novel features like being able to posses one of your minions (FPS view) and attracting creature with rooms instead of the traditional train/build setup. Edit: site, there are a few pictures and stuff there - not the best quality, I'll take some screeshots when I play it next. I'm downloading the trailers to find the best one then I'll link it. I don't think there's a demo supported on anyones servers now. The DK2 community died when EA bought Bullfrog in 1999. |

i'm hopeing you can reproduce the carrying ability of the imps. I love the fact that if you have enough imps your guys don't die! Then even better is the prison + torture room, i love nothing more then puting a chicken in the prison when there is a bunch of hero's in there, and then after all that you get cool skeletons from it! And then if the hero's or you guys die, the imps can put them in a graveyard to give you vampires!!!!!!1 If you can't tell i love this game, if it even gets around to a mod form i've got alot of good ideas for new stuff like new rooms, traps and creatures! I've got a great idea for some different types of lair, like a water lair for more water creatures! but anyway..... I think the body thing can be done with trigger stuff like the corpse wagon, how you get prisoners and the skeletons and the vampires, but the corpses thingy should work |

Yes, we definitely need a trigger guy. Have you ever played DK2, because that'd help - doesn't matter if you haven't. Unfortunately I was well enough to go to school today :bgrun: so I haven' done much. I started some loading screens, that's all. So we've got: Smaug (and Danosix?) doing models. Evil-Tormenter doing terrain and possibly some skins. P.H.O.B.O.S doing triggers. And last and probably least - me doing skins and a bit of everything mapping and other stuff here and there. If I forgot anything/one say something! :gsmile: Ionio |

Indeed, very cool. What would be even cooler would be if you had said "Cool, can I help?" I can't help thinking we are undermaned for the size of the project emote_confused. Oh, I'm working on a few things - when I get stuck I move onto sometihng else, until I learn more about that area of the project. |

Well i got an idea for this: The dungeon heart could have the castings/skills with a long range so it could reach to all ur minions. Is it going to be multiplayer or singleplayer? I might be of some help on spells, if ur looking for someone at that point, u found him. I also love the dungeon keeper games. Especially the secret bonus ones where u play humans. Much luck to this project! :Heh: |

Good idea about the heart, it's going to be singleplayer (possibly multiplayer later). Thank for the offer of help, we didn't have a spell person. Thanks for the support. First screenshot coming up :gsmile:. It's a Dark Knight using the Captain model, it may be updated later. |

The (crap) map that I made for testing scripts, triggers and stuff. I'll put the Dark Knight's .tga and .blp if anyone wants. Update: Does anyone have a Yahoo or Lycos account for a webpage for the project? It doesn't really matter, just an idea. |

I have a couple of WIP models that you may or may-not want but i can't get the internet connection working at my house so it may be awhile before i can post anything. I've been playing back through the missions of DK2 in my spare time, i really think there is alot more stuff that could've been done with it, none the less it's still pretty awsome. The only thing that has been going through my mind is the fact that DK2 uses 3d models that were made in 3dsmax, according to a couple of web sites. I don't know the legal issues, or how you can extract the stuff from Dk2 but if you could, then with a little work you could put a ton of stuff in, and all the modeling would be done. Even for a total conversion! |

I doubt there will be legal issues, EA hasn't touched the game - the site hasn't been updated since the takeover. I don't think EA cares about DK2. I started the skin for the Dwarf, but I'm having trouble with the team colour and alpha channels emote_confused. Smaug, I don't suppose you can ask in the modeling forum about the conversions. I know nothing about modeling, otherwise I'd ask. Ionio |

Well i guess i'll ask now, but i'm pretty sure that the models will work in Wc3. They are 3d models, and have there animations, so it should be pretty easy to put them in. They are actually a bit low on poly-count for warcraft, the only guy over 200 polies is Horny, he's 400. I was woried about the legal issues, but if you don't think there will be any, i'll go ahead and look around for a program to unpack the files and get the models. This will also help for the buildings too, everything is 3d so you'll have models for the portal, dungeon heart, and bridges, and etc. They are good file size for a map, but if we make a Total conversion we might want to update the poly-count of the units till they are atleast at the level of 500 for most Wc3 units. I was wondering if you had planed to change how you controled the units, because in DK they essentialy do things on there own. I guess it's not that important. |

yes Ionio, i have played DK2..but that was a long time ago..so i dont remember anyting.from the game ecxept that you can change the view to FPS.. and Ionio do you have the Frozen Throne..becuse it is alot easier with TFT and Smug...can you maybe chaneg the rock chunkels..(or what there names are) to cubes?? |

Yeah I have TFT :ggani:. Smaug, it'd be great if the poly count was boosted, the DK2 models are looking a bit dated... I'm not sure about the directly control of the units, it would be a nice feature, the only way I can think of doing it would be by changing the critter's random wondering "ability" |
