Well, that was... unpopular... personally, I don't mind. I like the w3csearch layout better than the wc3c one. The fact that it's a whole different site doesn't bother me either. And the fact that uploads there won't generate points doesn't bother me in the least. Points are pointless no matter how you look at it. Ok, I just realized, the fact that you have to set up an account at that site as well is quite bothersome.. |

Well, I agree with Ian... I've always loved Wc3sear.ch ... but - one thing I hate about it is the huge amount of WoW icons that always display when you go to the icon section... drives me crazy. Make a "How many 'x' per page?" function! Anyways, I would prefer that the downloads actually remained on this site. :\ |

@Zethiros Thats one thing i'm implementing the next days :-) |

Sort of annoying this is... You cant go around saying "This site is our DL section" if you will still have to re register to submit anything there... Just... Gah, why bother babbling, you just tell us what you have done, but RARELY listen to what we would like you to do... >_> |

@TrollZzz You wont need to re-register soon. The user accs can be transfered so you dont need to recreate an acc |

As good as the site Wc3sear is i still prefer the older download section by far, It's also dissapointing that files can only be uploaded one at a time, making icon packs harder to upload for the creator. Considering i on a Halfway decent broadband connection see a 1-2 minute pause with uploading mere icons, On the bright side the interface is cleaner, easier to navigate and you can rely on better comments than those that plagued the Downloads section on wc3c. Personally, i would like to see a intergration for "pack uploading" to the wc3sear system, so icon packs, skin packs or files stored in zips wouldn't have to all be released seperately. Other than that i like the change. To those of you bitching, the old system was problematic as is it seemed, since it seemed to have issues with Vb3 and i think the problems with this changed will be worked out like the rest of the upgrade, so have patience. |

@Zap Pack upload already exists ;-) Or do you think i uploaded 950 wow icons by hand? All i need to do is a interface for the upload script. It will be like this: You upload a zip file containing all the icons and my script uploads them one by one :-) |

its a pity you put more time into your personal site then this one |

Thats what I don't like. Why can't I just download all 950 at once, extract em to a directory on my comp, and then if I need one I can easily browse through them rather then taking 10 min looking at them on the site? Or having to take 5 hours downloading and unzipping all of them. Another thing is - it doesn't support readmes does it? I don't want to download something if the author was unable to put a readme in it that may have credited 2 other people, and I don't want my skins up with no readme so people can just use them and not give me credit. EDIT: Sorry Darky, didn't read your post in the Poll, I guess it does support readmes. Thats a :D IMO it'd be interesting just to add a few features: For one - Packs. You would select to upload an Icon, Skin, or Model pack, and it would simply except a .zip format with all the icons and check each one to make sure they were .blps. Campaigns - A Campaigns download section with 3 categories: Campaigns Cinematics Mods You could upload a .zip, .exe, .rar, or other self-extracting formats with a readme in it. The maps section should also support .exe and self-extractors in case someone wanted to upload a map that way. The maps section should also have the option to put in a screenshot rather then the minimap and the campaign section could have that same feature. Hope you consider those ideas ^_^ |

Um, why? If it's his site, why shouldn't he enjoy working on it more/put more effort into it...? :\ |

Darky when you upload a file it gets approved right away, you don't know whether its not appropriate, has a virus or is unnecessary, I suggest checking the file before uploading it on the site. (Yes I know that will be hard because your the only one managing the site). Also even if I upload my map (its 11.4MB) no .zip or anything it stops and displays this page cannot be displayed. |

He could find some other folks to help out. If this is wc3c's dl section, then some other people ought to be able to help out. Darky is probably busy enough working on ROTD and scripts for this. |
