Adding User Names to Rep Tickets

In the case that rep moderation is too much work for current mods, why dont they make a new type of mods called "rep mods" that , whenever PMed, could help out with reputation?

Additionally, why doesnt every mod have rep viewing power?

Just remove rep and save the extra work?

That would work. And only Admins or section directors can see rep... I don't know why.

As far as I know... he is. Throughout the many... MANY other rep threads... he has voiced the same opinion of rep as Shadow... or close enough.

And why is this discussion still going?

i expect iyts somewhat similar to the Dl section discusion, or all the hostility to the forums updates wwhen they were made a couple of months ago. give it time and im sure everyone will become complacent on the issue. but that still gives me sometime to whine

Well, you got another one. I've been against the reputation system since the beginning and I'd very much like to see it abolished.

The problem with the situation is that Draco and the few other admins that actually bother to visit the site every once in a while are somewhat nieve about the system; this probably spawns for the fact that they can remain completely unaffected by it. Hell, they can even remove any grey/red reputation they recieve. This does distance them somewhat.

On the subject of reputation moderators, I have the time and I'd be willing to be it, as would several other forum moderators, but a great deal of them don't, so the subject is somewhat mute. And I really can't see the administrative team creating moderators just for reputation.

Unfortunately, as it stands, discussions like this do nothing at all, because Draco seems to have his heart set on reputation...

How come they are so... addicted now to Reputation points all of a sudden? The normal points were 1, more... useful and more populair AND (the most important) less abused then the Reputation system.

Why is it all of a sudden that the others like this style so much better?

I agree with Fladian, the old system was fine - "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" - Some guy.
It's human nature to focus on the negative - it's easier to give bad rep to someone who obviously doesn't agree with you, than it is to give good rep to the majority of poeple that do agree with you.

I liked the old system better than the new one.

The one where you could rep people for attachments and such. Lots and lots of points went around and everyone was happy. Now... some points go around... and a vast majority of people are unhappy.

Honestly guys, stop posting about the reputation system and anything else you dont like here at wc3c, your opinion = 0 to the staff that is left at this site.

well thats a pesemistic veiw of the situation. i have faith that if the majority of people really are unhappy. then the admin will eventauly realise this, and change/remove it. untill then, ill just have to continue trying to convince people theyre are unhapy with the system. regardless of what they really think. :>

I know that gitlich just quoted this, but I disagree. Think about this: if everyone left the site and there were only 20 users, then the mods would have to do something. They wouldnt just let the site turn into trash. They would change the reputation system. Of course, now that I have 60 nice pretty rep, I'm honestly pretty reluctant to do that.

Something else, though, that annoys me, is that all the people in the art section have 80+ rep. When I check the members section, the top 7 spots are taken by people who generally reside in the art section. In the whole first page, there is only 5 people in triggers. A good 20 of the other people are in art. Not that art is evil or bad or anything, I'm just sorta annoyed because thats quite a bit of an inbalance.

Anyway, seems the rep system is inbalanced. But untill the moderators figure things out, seems like were stuck with it.

Yeah. The two main problems I have with rep are lack of signage and the imbalance between artists and other disciplines.

Just because mappers and triggers don't create in-your-face work doesn't mean that we don't do more subtle stuff. When you think about it, triggerers are generally much more helpful than artists, because we're always answering questions while artists are away making their models and skins. Artists completely deserve the rep they get, but other people do too.

I agree 3526-----.

The problem is that people who don't do things that others can see all that well are given the shaft. no matter what happens.

And Jester... You must be talking about the higher ups... because I know I care.
