Is there a Multiplayer FPS game out yet? Everyone on B.net would go insane, those movies were good! I'm going to make a FPS Air Combat map. I doubt I'll use this map for a base because it seems that you have to run the program before doing that or something. One question: Can I make it so that in my map you can't click to move? I want it to be only keyboard, with mouse for buying items, and that's all. |

Yup of course you can. I've got a bit of experience with these things and it's not too hard, you just have to experiment a bit. To make it such that you can't click to move, simply periodically select another unit, the shop probably so you can buy stuff anytime you like. The FPS Cam shouldn't be a problem, and the keyboard controls are just periodic triggers. The main problem should be the lag issue that comes with multiplayer. Precise timing for controlling is rather difficult with normal keyboard controls (hold to move, release to stop moving) since there are a lot of periodics that generate a lot of lag in bnet. The solution, not too difficult, is to make it such that precise controlling is NOT required, and attacks have a wide aoe blahblah. Well just ask me anything if you need to. |

Guest | when making a new map, the world editor crashes when I try to save it, before I start working on it. Help! :( |

Re-adjust the facing of the FPS Unit. Turn it about 180 degrees. I dun know why but for some reason there's a 90-180 degree field where my FPS Unit faces that causes the thing to crash. But wait, that's only when you run it, not save it -.- Well, it could be something you modified or anything. For simple solution, upload your map and I'll see what I can do. |

Guest | Well, I haven't managed to get anywhere, for I want to save a different thing before I start work. When I save a new copy of the engine map, the world editor crashes. |

Eek. You mean world editor crashes just by trying to save an unedited copy of the fps map or is there something you did first? |

Guest | No, I didn't do anything before saving the fps map. IT was the original copy. |
