Guest | I thought it was manga too, but on the interview with the artist it says it's manwha: "korean manga". The eyes arent huge like in normal mangas. It just looks a bit more realistic. I don't know, but some people say those eyes and stuff are made so that phyhologically people like them more, but as I see some people don't. Anyway, anime is a nice way to express emotions. |

I prefer sketchy realistic. Sketchy if black and white, just to add to the dynamics of the picture. Of course, if it is in color, sketchy is bad. Realistic tends to look way better finished than a cartoon or anime style, which takes less effort to produce a finished image. |

As long as they look good, I like them all. Alex Ross brings in so much depth to his art because they are so awesom. Brian Hitch brings so much detail and realism to his work. I like japanese comics because I fall in love with those characters. I love cartoons because they are so much fun. Chuck Jones, the greatest cartoonist of all generations, was the best at coming up with funny moments. To be honest I don't understand people who catagorizes arts and hate certain catagory. Who cares? As long as it looks good, I like it. I also don't like people who like something because they are in a specific catagory. America is so uptight about how a comic should look like and how an anime should look like, and how a cartoon should look like. And you are wondering why all of the japanese animations look the same. Because that what American Distributers import... Even an American cartoon is called anime over Japan. Japanese comics have no style. Every individual artists get recognized by their drawings because they are so diverse. Only few American artists get recognized by their drawings because the comic editors do not allow experimentations with the styles. To be honest with you I think that Bugs Bunny eyes are bigger than any of the characters from Japanese Animations. But you know what, that does not bother me. When I see a drawing, and I like it I want to draw like that, regardless of the catagory. |

rain, i totally agree. :D not all anime cartoons look like sailor moon or yugioh or pokemon (or inuyasha or kenshin or DBZ or whatever else is on Cartoon Network) and some american cartoons look more like anime than certain actual "anime" cartoons. does anyone know a real definition of what "anime" or "anime style" is? |

Fav: Realistic and technical drawings. Manga is ok, but i don't like it very much (mechanical devices are great). I like cartoony when i want to laugh. Dont like sketches, they're too sketchy :ggani: |
