something cool could be like a freezing path.
ex:

name: freezing path

cost: 5 mana/s
effect: when running it leaves behind a freezing path that slows enemies movement speed by 45% and attach speeed by 25%.
duration: 3 sec (2) (heroes)

Item for Unholy Shade

Name: Stone of Temporal Deviation
Icon: Mana Stone Icon
Effect for Everyone: Shadowmeld
Bonus for Unholy Shade:
Grants him Evasion and Temporal Deviation.

Details:
The Stone of Temporal Deviation has charges but cannot be used up and will recharge at +1 per 45 sec.

When activated, an Temporal Double of the hero will be created at it's current location, at the same time, the original hero will become invisible and have a 35% speed increase. Attacking or casting spells during Temporal Deviation will relink the Temporal Planes again, making the hero visible again.

The Temporal Double can be controlled by the player and have the animations of the original. Think of it as Mirror Image meets Wind Walk.
This is probably used for spying or escaping.

heres two ideas;

amulet of rage
-if an enemy unit comes within 600 range of the unit carrying the amulet, the holder gains bloodlust and haste, this is best for the demonic forces

stone of virtue
-held by a hero for the light gains an aura that has a chance to freeze lower level demons (pause them so they don't attack back for 5 seconds & change the tint to a greyish colour or simply change team colour to grey) or slow high level demons by 30%

At the Amulet of Rage, sounds pretty cool but you might as well give them permanently, what use is the range thing, since th only time you would use it is to fight and youd therefore be in range.

I like the Stone of Virtue too, do you have a preference on a hero if I use your ideas? (if you are confused read more of the thread)

the stone of virtue can be for a paladin type hero, do what ever you like with the amulet of rage

Heres one for the demonic forces I call it bane of wantoness; this is an amulet that damages any unit friend/foe near the hero it also makes him immune to magic plus it turns ally non hero type units into demon lords fellhounds or infernals

gift of destruction is a pair of gloves that slow attacks by enemies within the heros line of sight by half and has a 25% chance to deliver a stunning counter attack (the attacker is stunned and takes as much damage as he/she dishes out back onto them) this is for good

conquering shield is used by both it is a ranged defensive item ensnaring any would be attackers letting the unit move away to pick off at the enemy from a distance it also has a + bonus 5 to agility so that mean melee units know that it's supposed to be for the ranged folks

-Frost Mage-:
Stone of the Freezing
Gives everyone:
A 10% chance to reduce the attacked units attacking speed by 85% and its moving speed by 40%.
Special for Frost Mage:
Increases the chance dramaticly to 20-30% (Depending on hero level, 20 for 1-3, 25 for 4-6 and 30 for 7-10). Increases the attacking speed decreasement to 95% and speed to 55%.

-Storm Mage-:
Trapped wind (Icon being a stone/glass bottle with a hurricane like wind in it)
Gives everyone:
A 5% chance to throw anyone, including heros, around the player into the air for 35 seconds. (In other words, not that perticularly usefull)
Special for Storm Mage:
Increases it to a busting 30% (every time he attacks) and icreases the admount of time to 45 and also does 3 dmg per second in the air. (- This is getting usefull, heh.)
Tooltip:
A mighty wind trapped inside "Bottle/Stone - container" that is trying to get out. -Here comes the *what it does* part-

-The Skeletal Knight- (Also Death Knight skill, but lesser):
Soul Stone (I know this is kinda used before)
Gives:
200 hp bonus, an 5% plus on attack and the ability to raise skeletons (4 of them) for 250 mana (this will not be Charged in that way).
Special for Skeletal Knight:
450 hp bonus, 13% plus on attack and the ability to randomly spawn 2 skeletons at 8%.
Special for Death Knight:
250 hp bonus, 7% plus on attack and raise 4 skeletons for 200 mana.

-Infernal Mage-
Flames eternal stone (This is a POWERFULL ITEM)
Gives:
15% + attack, 30 + agility and an ability to call down an infernal at the cost of 350 mana (expensive).
Special for Infernal Mage:
25% + attack, 40 + agility.Adds a ability to boost the Infernal Mages' infernals on the field, making them get a 20% + attack, 30% faster attack and movement speed increase by 200 at a cost of 200 mana. (I told you this was a powerfull item, for regular units as well, also, edit the mana cost for regular units to what you see fit).

Okay, this is all for now. If you're gonna include me, I'd like to be the Infernal Mage, and don't use J2002R, use Dead-Inside, I just haven't fixed my forum name here.

I'll come up with more ideas if you need, and promise me you will tell me when this map is done!

Thanks, that's a relief. Now, tell me which units you need more/new items for. Also, I'll think up some neutral (that doesn't add anything special to anyone) items usable for all heros.

I thought up this one however:
(Intended to have two Zs)
Banner of the Wizzards (The Wizzards being a group of non-hero units somewhere on the map)
Gives:
A 30% chance of decreasing units entering 500 area of the hero health by 50%. This is only when they enter the area of the hero, so to say. (Only effects non-hero units of course)

I'd like to create some creep groups, if possible?
Being as for one, The Wizzards. A half mage, semi-magic gathering of creeps. ;). I'll make up all the units for my side-races or whatever you should call it.

Do you want to go with that?

Edit: Us idea-makers (and out friends) should do the beta-testing. This way we can tell you what we want edited in our items/spells and what stats ect should be changed, how about it? It sounds fair.

As for the wizzards... unfortuantely since this is a Hero Arena, I will not have too many creeps (4 spawin points) and they already have themes, so this may not work. However, after the game is released each update will include a hero for light and a hero for dark, so perhaps one of these could become a wizzard.

Also regarding beta, I will post the beta here, and allow all those who made items to test it, but the main tests will be run on B-net. Being that it would be hard to get everyone to gather on there at the same time, I will just post the map, and a specific time for testing. If you happen to be there at that time, you can join the full test(s). This way even if you cant make it to that, you can still test it.

Finally regarding which heroes still need itemshere's a list:
Skeletal Knight
Dwarven War Machine
POSSIBLY - Storm Mage (one or two of the items given for him are impossible and/or being considered for a skill instead
I think thats it, although Ill let you know if I need more.

How about for skeletal knight:

Skeleton orb:
For everyone - 40% chance to raise a skeleton on killing non-hero, and 40% chance to raise a giant skeleton on hero kill.

For skeletal knight
100% chance to raise skeletons, skeleton longevity. Ability to possibly raise different types of skeleton, ranged units => skeletal archers, melee => skeletons or giant skeletons etc


For Dwarven war machine:
Power supply:
For everyone - lightning attack, attack bonus.

For War machine -
higher attack bonus, overload - ability to overload circuits doing a small amount of electrical damage to the war machine and a large amount of electrical damage to surrounding enemy units.

For Storm Mage:
Trapped wind (like J2002R suggested) but,
for everyone - 10% possibiltity of casting cyclone on enemy when attacking

For mage:
Cyclone attack - like shockwave but use the cycle special effect, hence he fires a cycle attack forward injuring any enemies in way (if possible make a 20% chance the injured enemies will have cyclone effects on them - ie thrown in air)


or

Orb of clouds:
For everyone:
gather clouds around the player making them harder to see (evasion upgrade) - possibly change colour of player to slightly darker or play a cloud type effect.

For mage:
Allows the mage to surround himself with clouds and dissapear. Like windwalk but with a cloud special effect on the mage when he dissapears. You could also add a lighting attack on nearby units from the clouds. Possibly create a cloud unit that replaces the hero and give it chain lightning while the mage becomes invisible. A variation is to replace the mage with a cloud with chain lighting and a lightning attack, and when the cloud is killed replace the hero. So a shapechange into cloud ability.

Just some idead, hope they help,

I like the Orb of Clouds a lot... I may use some variation of it if you dont mind (although your exact version may not be the on e I use) If I do what would you like to be?

Feel free to change the items around, use parts of them, or not use them at all , they were just to give you a few ideas :D

If you put me in the game I would like to be either the skeletal knight or the death knight.

Shadow, since this map will be THE BOMB... Will there be custom skins? Because I will gladly help you with that. (If you need any for creeps as well).

-Dwarven War Machine-
Heretic engine
Gives:
25% speed increase and a 20% faster attack rate.
Special for Dwarven War Machine:
Speed increase by 50% and a 30% faster attack rate.
Also gives the Dwarven War Machine a harder attack, increase by 20%.
Tool-tip: Mount a Heretic Engine on your hero and increase his capabilities.

Extra Cannon
Gives:
+ 50 dmg. Also gives a range attack at 200 for non-ranged heros, doing 25 dmg.
Special for Dwarven War Machine:
Adds the same ranged attack.
Increases attack rate with 50% and attack dmg with 35%.
Tool-tip: Mounts an extra cannon on your hero. Gives a range attack. - info -

I think both are worth being in the game. They are nothing "cool" really, but they are good parts of the game itself, from my point of view. Need anything else? I got some more ideas brewing...
