Just to let you guys know, there IS a way of getting it to work on bnet, and everyone who has your map, will se the loading screen...
1. First you extract
a. Credits-Loading-BotLeft.blp
b. Credits-Loading-BotRight.blp
c. Credits-Loading-TopLeft.blp
d. Credits-Loading-TopRight.blp
2. Convert them to .tga
3. Edit them in Photoshop or PSP and save them
4. Convert them back to .blp
5. Open the WinMPQ that comes with W3M Map Utilies (http://w3m_eng.wo.to/)
6. Within the WinMPQ open your map (only w3m will work)
7. Add the files to it, and make sure the path is correct (UI\Glues\Loading\Backgrounds\Load-Credits\)

Thats it! You should now have a custom loading screen included in your map.

Sorry man we already discussed this...thats does not work because the loading screen information is not carried by the map...it is carried by your war3.mpq.....

thanks for trying to help though....

DARKY plz plz plz tell us if u got that custom loading screen working for other comps but yours.....what are SEMPQs

You can ADD the information to the map, just as you can add SKINS and MODELS to the map, its the same thing, i HAVE done this, thats why you have the path, when war3 reads the filepath in the map, it will override the one in war3.mpq

it does, as long as you follow the directions... when you add a skin or model to a map, the game reads those files, and their paths, and then proceeds to override the regular skins/models with the ones in the map, skins are in blp format, the loading screen is in blp format, they work the same way

Dude u just lied to us by saying you did it..

EDIT:The loading screen is in the same file format .blp....and u can replace the loading screen by replaceing the original credits loading screen in your war3.mpq but your custom loading screen will only show up on your computer...i dont know how many times this has been said in this thread....

I just thought of something, why the loading screen wont work, it's acctually really simple, everything that you place in the map works, even the loading screen, its not that WarCraft doesn't read it, its because it reads it to late.

all that you can change that will work before you start the map is the minimap due to the fact that warcraft reads that first even before starting tha map.

When Warcraft starts loading it doesn't read the map first, it reads the mpq files war3 and the patch, the it uses that loading screen that is in that file, after loading all that preloading (prolly including the other files that you "can't" edit because it doesn't change anything even if you edit them) then WarCraft starts loading the map, it reads the custom loading screen from the map but it doesn't have any action to take with it and just moves on becasue the loading screen should have been loaded before it started loading the map, everthing else that works is things that hasn't been used yet but will when the map starts.

Thats why there is no use mpq:ing a loading screen into the map, unless Blizzard or someone else makes a custom WarCraft III. exe that searches for the loadingscreen in the map beore it looks in the mpq's, they wont work until that is done and that isn't likelly to happen :(

You have to get MPQDraft. It is a proggy that can archive your selfedited files in a SEMPQ. It is a selfextracting MPQ what means that it is an *.exe file like the ones in UMSWE.;) After that you can run that *.exe file and it caches the files which were in that SEMPQs in the memory and overwrite the files from war3patch.mpq and war3.mpq. That proggy works 100% for all files you wish. ^^ You have to contact Quantam at Campaigncreations.org to receive the latest version of MPQDraft.

EDIT: It is very sad that too less people dont know about MPQDraft because it is a very helpful proggy for your own campaigns. It were already used by Starcraft campaigns. So it is very old that proggy. ;D

I'm not sure of this but I think that if you include the corresponding *.mdx file in the map, your custom screen has a little chance to work (never tried that).

i have never gotten custom loading screen files to work from inside the w3m file... from the war3patch.mpq yes, but never the w3m... it seems to be the same as trying to use miscdata.txt or destructabledata.slk the game ignores those files in the w3m...
