All skinners read! Skinning contest ideas.

It should be the way Zap said but there shouldnt be teams. The winners should get a pic to put in the sig like "best overrall skin" then have a pic of the skin and some other effects.

I vote the judges be KDEWolf, DaemonKillar, and Kiether. (Source for this being the Thread "Whos your favorite wc3campaigns skinner")

actually, i think the judges should be kdewolf (lazy to use caps ;p) keither and maybe citizensnips because they are the moderators...

I love the contest idea!
I think it's time for me to show my skills in skinning. Actually, I do a lot of skinning while making models, but because of that I'm not treated as actually skinner.
As for the model(s) I think that Citezen, Wolf and all those people who are starting this shit, should use a model that they deside by themselves, without asking the public.

Yeah I know you got nice skinning skills also. Is just that since you skin your models you post them at Modelling Forum. I don't think that 'shit' is a nice manner to reffer to the Contest ;) but whatever. And yeah we are just asking for ideas here, nothing definite.

Pencilgod, I really like some of that concept art you posted. Could you perhaps post a picture of the rest of the body of that second one you posted. Or better yet perhaps you could point me to the website where you are getting that concept art from.

It would take to long... but what would be pretty interesting would be if you had a conceptart contest.
Then you take perhaps the top 3 and have a modeling contest using that concept art.
Then you take the model... and have a skinning contest.

Its a neat idea if a bit unfeasable.

Humm I like this, but it would take too long. Maybe on the next one... Right now lets let Citizen model it. He`s the wrapping god, and this is good news to all you skinners ;)

All that concept art is from artbyfeng.com . If you want to use it, you have to make up the lower body yourself.

BTW, I'd like to enter the contest, but I'd definately love to be a judge too. But that's KDEWolf's call.

Personally I think maybe you should be allowed to enter AND be a judge but you obviously cant judge your own artwork lol.

Is the model going to be warcraft three sized, and shaped, as if it were a unit, or is going to be full size realistic action figure-esque (esque is fun to add to ends of words) model?
