in #12, the white is an alpha layer, it wont show in the splash screen |

#3 and 10 look more fitting if it were for Starcraft, doesn't match the Warcraft Decor. #1, 2, and 8 have a psychadelic look, but its not something I want to stare at everytime the World Editor comes up. Remember, you're gonna see this every time it opens up, choose something that isn't going to irritate you after viewing it several times. #4, 6, and 7 aren't so hard to look at, kind of calming really. |

#4 and #9 are the only ones that really jumped out at me. They both look good in and of themselves. However, #4 will eventually look boring, but #9 gives you something to look at every time it starts up. For a while, anyway. But when it's boring it will still look good! :D |

1: Ugly units, ugly icons, a trigger with typos, rainbow background. Disneyland anyone? 2: Colours too sharp, and overdone effects. 3: Starcrafty text and pics on a medieval stone-like slate. Doesn't fit the Warcraft theme well, but not bad overall. I considered to vote this. 4: Background sucks, text too funky, could've applied some effects on Rockin' Arthas. 5: WTF-does-that-mean background, ugly Comic Sans MS text, ugly font. 6: Fits the World Editor for Warcraft theme nicely. Just 0wns. I voted for this. 7: Crappy UMSWE text, WTF-does-that-mean background. 8: Crappy 80s neon light UMSWE text, font sucks, WTF-does-that-mean icons. 9: Typo found! "New advanced Warcraft III map editor by the Use Map Settings team. Revolutionizing mapping as we know it. New compatability functions and editables. UMSWE is the only Warcraft III advanced map editor you will ever need, so Use Map Settings and start making some amazing maps for the great..." should be compatibility. Seems to be made by someone who watched The Matrix too much. 10: Too starcrafty. "ENHANCED WORLD EDITOR" hardly readable. 11: If you remove the text UMSWE I would've thought that it's a mod or something... doesn't suit the World Editor theme. 12: I see crappy fonts, they are everywhere, they don't know that they are crappy, and some of them... look like something that would be put into a Disney cartoon. I think Disney doesn't suit the 3D Earth and the Lich King background well... Leviathan's: Not good, not bad. Edit: Looks like Logo 3 is winning. Looks like that everyone dug up the submit logos thread and found out who made it... |

I see, for the next time I will make no public poll. Too many people are quarreling about which fits best and which is the best. Just vote what you think is the best and SHUT UP. @Phil: Thats in my opinion a good critique. |

Guest | I voted for # 6 because it had the right saying. With it as a splash screen everybody know what it is about. |

I don't see anybody quarreling. Most people just commented about the few that seem the most remarkable. Nobody did anything different from Phil, except mentioning only a few images instead of all of them. Here are your rules for acceptable comments: Quote:
Ok. Based on those requirements, Phil's critique is no different than mine. I posted my opinion of several backgrounds, and nothing more. Phil's critique in fact fits your description of a "stupid" post, and yet you praised him: Quote:
No offense to Phil, BTW. I think your critique is fine, albeit a bit negative. So if you are incapable of setting and correctly communicating requirements that aren't contradictory, please, don't let us post in your threads. I would have saved my time knowing that my post didn't meet your exact thought pattern requirements and would annoy you by being contrary to your will, O mighty one. If you are wondering why I am so bitter, I don't appreciate it when people imply that I'm too stupid to follow the rules when in fact they are too stupid to set rules correctly. |

In fact, this was one of the less Constructive Critiscism ever, BTW, Don't you think that people may be voting for #3 just because they like it and not because of the author, It's time to say that the most proffesional looking logos are #3 , #12 and #13 You can't vote for #13, and it doesn't matter if #12 is the only that fits the Warcraft Theme, Cause people can choose the one they like the most. |

IN MY OPINION... Logo 1 - One of the better ones here. The icons and fading trigger text fit the theme of World Editor nicely. Initialize misspelled, though. Logo 2 - Seems like very little thought was put into this one. Random effects thrown around. **Logo 3** - What can I say? Very detailed logo. Looks nice. One of my top three. Logo 4 - A little too grey for me. I don't like the font or background used for this logo. Logo 5 - A little too plain. Should have used more effects. The creator is brave for using Comic Sans. **Logo 6** - Very nice logo. The Grunt looks a little less fitting than the Rifleman. The 3D against the 2D looks a little strange to me, though. One of my top three. Logo 7 - The logo is a little plain. More detail or effects would have made this logo look much better. Logo 8 - Extremely plain logo. The neon does not work for me. Logo 9 - Creative logo. I like the way this is made. In my opinion, it is a little plain but any other additional effects would probably not have worked here. Logo 10 - Very nice logo. Its seems to be lacking something, though. Logo 11 - Plain but it looks good. **Logo 12** - Very well-done logo. The planet fits nicely into the World Editor theme. The UMSWE letter details are nice. One of my top three. |

OMG, I didn't want to say that his is the best, just that thats an example of what I regard as appropriate in this thread. You won't see really inappropriate stuff here, because I REMOVED it. |

ahhhh 3 rules... i hardly could pick from 3, 6 and 9... 3 looks nicest...dunno if it really fits UMSWE and w3...but... its nice for the eye... allthough...i would really would have preferred this one!!! It's w3, it's medieval...its UMSWE!!! ![]() |

Alright, I'm mollified. As long as the quarreling and stupidity is limited to the threads that you removed. |

I still have no idea who made which, but I do know that 3, 4, 6, and 12 are the best looking to me. I think #4 kicked ***, but the text is too plain. I liked the idea of #6, but the jpeg quality was low and the meshing of 2 images didn't look right. I really didn't like the font on #12 and on top of that it looked funny having a background image on the left and then a blank spot on the right. I voted for #3 because it was flawless even though it didn't really fit the Warcraft III theme. |

4, because the rockin' Arthas is cool. |

Hey, I have an idea. Why not allow the user to select the spash screen, either by moving a file with the proper name to the proper folder or (even better) through editing some .ini or .txt file and typing in the picture's location and filename? Then everyone could just use whatever splash screen they like best. |
