DaishiOfDeath: You seem to have misunderstood what I said, I'll rephrase myself.

I haven't tried your OBJ=>MDX feature. I have merely tried the 3DS=>MDX feature and that's what I'm talking about.

OBJ can't be imported into 3D Studio MAX 4.2 without modifications.

It works with XP YES.. but some files won't work on either my XP or my Win95 computer. It's not that I use XP.. every file that does work on 95 worked on XP for me.

Wanna send me 1 or 2 of the files (3ds) that don't work, and I'll try them out, and debug my program?

Perhaps I should have called this 3DS->mdx, instead of 3ds, because apparently my loader works for 3DS Autodesk files, and not .3ds max files..

Does 3DSMax have a 3DS exporter? If so, then try that.

DaishiOfDeath: 3D Studio max has an .3ds exporter.

The .3ds files work just fine, your editor DOES work with them. I've only seen one yet that doesnt work and that is the one I sent you.

The one you sent back in .obj didn't show up in the game when converted, it was just invincible.

So I took matter into my own hands and tried a program called "Crossroads" that converts .3ds to obj and vice versa.

I converted one of my .3ds models into .obj and then converted. Same thing happened as with your .obj.

Sincerely

I thought that I sent you a .mdx file?

Oh well, I can resend it, send me an email because I've already erased your previous one. :S

DaishiOfDeath: Well, you did send me a .mdx file but it didn't work :) The model turned up invisible in the game.

I tried it myself and it didn't work either so :)

Yes, your model is suffecient in size, try moving it so the center of the model is at the origin.

I'm going to have to write a full-fledged model loader with parsing so that it loads all .obj files by Monday, so expect a new version to come out next week

DaishiOfDeath: Did you find something about the issues we adressed earlier in this thread? Because I'm stuck and I really want to use your editor.

I fixed the 3ds->mdx code to work for all version of 3dsmax.

I've also fixed the texture coordinates.. I'll upload a new version sometime...
