How does it not like them... What program did you use to export them? Does the 3ds files look wacky, or is it the .obj?

ok heres what happened - i opened my stick guy for a test. i exported him as 3ds and also as obj. then with your 3ds or obj to mdx thing i loaded sticksword.3ds. then i chose the mdx file name. when i clicked convert, the program closed. then i tried the sticksword.obj file. i did the same thing and it converted sucessfully. i put the model into the game and when i opened up world editor, it looked "wacky". it was all... weird. oh yeah and i use 3ds 4.2 with habware's max2obj and obj2max plugins.

Erm', I think that converter has already been designated to not work with my converter, are you running XP?

DaishiOfDeath: I used a .3ds (without texture coordinates and without a texture) and converted it into .mdx. Nothing happened, the program didn't close but it was converted. Then I placed it in the patch mpq and went in game. All I got was a grey cube.

I don't know what's wrong but anyway.. I hope this was some help at least. ;)

I would love to see it work.

I want to take back what I said above.. it does work, my problem was that the object was under the default helper line in 3Dsm and thus only the top was visible.

BUT, I do get a crash when I try one of my other models.
If you want the log just tell me.

Edit: Alright, I'm back.. =P and now I have the same problem as Markus3832.. BUT, it seems to depend on what filename I type.
:////

Gaah.. well.. It doesn't crash, but just dissappears.. I tried different filenames and it worked out fine.. until I tried it ingame, where the model didn't even show up.. just nothing, invisibility.. kind of :)

Anyway.. I tried some other files (none with more than 5 letters in it, btw) and some crashed, some didn't)

Also.. I removed some vertices from one of my models, and then it did work.. but to me that's no use.

Hmmm.. I think that's all for today.. cya tomorrow. :ggani:
