Do you listen to music while you make your art?

death metal isnt that bad! :D


i like most rock music, but i'm kinda sick of bands korn and other "hard rock" bands like linkin park (and especially good charlotte! i hate good charlotte!!!!!!)... i like dark music and all, but bands that try to be dark just for the sake of being dark just gets annoying... but i guess thats cuz i listen to more emo punk stuff most of the time... :bgrun:

also... blink182 and sum41 really bug me... because they're pop sellouts and all that... but this isnt a discussion about music culture... so i'm gonna stop going off topic... :D

but i do like tool and system of a down :D

i used to just listen to Korn and Limp Bizkit (ONLY the first album. the rest is suxxor!!) but going out to clubs kinda opened my mind to diffrent kinds like some alternative dance and d&b. Right now i'm quite addicted to adio bullies, problem is, i dont have the album and the only one i know is this girl that lives faaaaar away... but hey whatever, i need to visit her often anyway cuz i love her ans stuff...>.< annoying...

whats with you ppl and your mainstream music?! i personally am a punk rock junkie, pennywise, bowling for soup, older offspring (though the new album wasn't bad) simple plan and pretty much any of the local bands over in san francisco....(s.f. punk is pwnage ;P) i also hit it with a bunch of industrial. its kind of a mix between hardcore and techno. suicide commando, das ich, velvet acid christ, funkervogt etc. sometimes the music i listen to gives me ideas, but it doesnt influence me when i AM drawing.

but simple plan is pretty mainstream pop too... as for industrial, i used to like it more, but it feels so empty now... can't really relate to it, so it sounds cool to play when your beating the crap outta stuff, but just for listening to, i get bored of it. :bgrun:

Music is music. Whether it's played on the radio or the band "sold out" (BSBSBS?), it's still music. Just listen to wot you like. =)

No, I don't listen to music typically, though it might be on sometimes anyway. When I draw, I become focused on the drawing itself and how I want it to look. I can even tune out school bells and noon bells whenever I'm drawing.
I prefer country, by the way (Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, and a little Toby Keith.

if any of u like punk hardcore try raised fist (one of my favorite band)
for some death metal try napalm death, i use to listen kidney thieves and freezepop to calm myself when im too excited
and for metal i like kittie, at all i prefer a girl on vocal for some unknown reasons

Everytime I do any art, I have to be listening to rap, and most times it's Tupac. I mean I could do art at the same level if I wasn't listening to music, but for some reason I feel more comfortable and make less mistakes if I listen to Tupac. Now beat me with a stick becuase I know that not alot of people at campaigns like rap.

i like rap... but not all.. and personally i'm not a fan of tupac.. i know hes supposed to be the best blabla but i just dont feel that way... i like wu-tang a lot better, its more relaxed and layd back then those 'gangster' rappers... and i like eminem for his extreme lyrics, hes got funny songs, like the one about the shrooms on slim shady LP, i love that one ^^

My New favorite music is Power/Symphonic Metal! Good stuff it is. My favorite band of the moment is Rhapsody, but i cant draw when i listen to them, i get too caught up in the music :D . But i also listen to other music and i would definatly say it influences how i draw.

listening to music while i draw helps me totally block out the outside world, which i am really really good at. it happones to me so much that when i am drawing people just talk to me and i dont hear a thing... untill they touch me, that breaks the spell and i snap back to reality.
