Falconoid, those are some great ideas. I had thought about a weather system in which rain, snow, wind, etc would cause different effects. I also had an idea where units on certain terrain or in certain regions gained certain auras. For example, in a forest, Archers might gain hide, but they might also lose accuracy (due to the dense trees).

I like your ideas for the trading. Although it sounds advanced, I'm sure someone could pull it off. I really kind of just imagined dropping gold and lumber items into shallow water, having the ship pick it up with an inventory slot, and then having it carry the items to someplace, dropping it off at an allied base. Same with the caravans. But your ideas are cool too. If we could get it to work, then I have no problem putting it into the game.

As far as the tech tree goes, I'm still not quite done with it. I'm no good with balancing units, so I'm just gonna name them and leave it up to unit creators to balance them out. I'll PM the tech tree as soon as I finish it.

2nd thing, for a map to be good on bnet , there is a few requirement. first it cannot be too complicated , must not last too long, and if it last too long , there must be save mode. well i arent saying this without prove..

look at dota , its not complicated to know how it works and whats your objective. it doesnt last long unless its a good game that will last over 2hr. usually its about 30mins(if 1 team is too strong) to 1.3hr ..

look at tD , its also no too complicated to know how to play it , tho it take some time to learn how to build in the proper way.

not to really make your idea look bad , but those are my idea... thats why i havent start making a map yet =( these 3 point blew off my last few idea ...

Sadly, DOTA sucks. But you have good points none the less. This game involves immense strategy, which will allow for players to play non stop for hours at a time. If you could help with custom spells (the "spells" would be abilities such as putting spearmen in a Phalanx Spearwall position in order to stop a cavalry charge, or a "Charge" ability for cavalry).

why don't you let me do the tech tree? i've been planning a vs. of castle builder since I started playing. I was gonna make it and call it clan builder. Wat you do is select whay type of clan u want to be: dark, miner, nomad, and slave trade. I have the tech tree all planned out in my head, just need to get it onto paper.........

dota is build on a fairly easy to do spells and trigger, although there is a few that i am still trying to figure out.

anyway, the idea of your trading system can be easily done or at least fairly easy. use a market place that sell wold and gold costin the same amount , get a unit with 6 inventory and u can choose to load it up den u use it to move to the ally market place and drop it there. using a trigger, check when a unit own by a player drop a item , den check the item drop. if the item drop is wood , use a region to check if there is any marketplace within a certain range of the item, if there is , destroy the item then giv the owner of the marketplace the amount on the wood.
there only problem that u will face using this method is that what if there is 2 market place then that will face a problem.

holy crap.......... i hate to say this ]Dragon Bane[ but that was the most nubish thing i have EVER seen, you took falcanoids avatar and put it as yours.... let me give you some advice i dont remember names i remember avatars (many people do like me, fladian etc) and by putting that there i automaticly thought you were Falcanoid. your not. u only have two posts and youve taken someone elses avatar! i only relized that you werent him once i noticed the square brackets in your name....so please...do not steal peoples avatars!

That would be AWESOME, FrostFire. As well, I apologize for the absence of terrain. It's tough work and I'm finishing it up as I type. I plan to have it done by the end of the week.

he's my best friend! and i found the avatar bfore him, so he actually took it from me. so don't blame me! i'll even get him to change it to make you happy! And could i have my mdl commands? and anything else needed?

one question, if were all gettin the original map whos gonna put all the edited maps together? and how come everyone has stole my job, i was the trigger editor/spell and unit creator. wats going on here
