Read through the entire thread and your answer will be found...

To the people who can only test the spells that they've put into the w3m files, and can't get the working in the game, you need to put them back into the map file AFTER you've saved them with WE, because the world editor will delete all of the added files to the map.

Maybe im missing something but i still dont see the answer to my problem about using the New Spell button. It is in the same directory as Abilitydata.slk....hmm..i dunno...sorry

your supposed put all the files into your warcraft3 directory or something

I can use it fine. But I've got a question,I made an ability called Death Quake based on earthquake.I want it to hit units aswell as buildings but when I added enemy & neutral to the list it didn't make any difference.emote_sweat

When you tested it, did you make sure that you added it to the map after you saved the map?

I am able to successfully make custom spells and modify origianl spells, when I modify the original spell and add it to the map it works fine, but how do I add custom spells to heros and other units?

whenever I click new spell button,
It is turned off because of error.

I am using win2000
and all the files were in w3 directory.

Laborparty, redownload it...

To apply the new spells you have to edit the txt files that have the spells in them (i.e. OrcAbilityFunc.txt...). It's in plain readable text, and isn't that hard to edit or add new spells to..

I dled the new version but it doesnt seem to work any better. I cant add spells, and it closes down every time i try to. And i put the SF thing and the spell editor in my wc3directory, and removed the old stuff from your old one. Only thing i didnt move was the readme. And i doubt thats my problem. I use XP.

No item.slk. And i dled it from your last link. Ill dl it again and see if theres any change.

Nope, no change. If we need an item.slk, please post it up here. It doesnt seem to come with the dl, no matter how many times i dl it, which wouldnt make a difference anyway.:bgrun:
