Sorry i haven't posted in a while, Kieth told me the site was down and i took his word for it and never checked myself. Turns out he was full of it!

Anyway, i've done a LOT of programming for the map, i've actually made it a bit playable so far... im going to take a break though, i've been working everyday for every hour on it, and i still have crap loads to do. I'll be letting him to terrain while i rest lol

The map's looking great, if only I could help ya with it, but alas, my ability lies more with C++, and I haven't dwelved much into the workings of custom text. Most maps I try to make end up sucking... :( It's terrain I really can't do, other than that, things are fine. Good luck with your map!

The project is going well, here is a very rough percentage of the completion rate:

Terrain is approximately 60% complete, not including needed improvements.

Programming is about 15% complete (i already have around 25-33 triggers right now i guess... thats a very rough guess)

A few changes about my first post on this thread:

1. Camera movement will not be as graphic as explained, instead i felt it would be better to only pan the camera when it is a player's turn to his playing piece, then allow him freedom to move the camera around the map while his unit is moving.

2. The entire game will be controlled through dialogs, i'll try to avoid string initializations as much as possible. Although it will be required during auctioning.

3. Computer players will not be added in the first version. For right now i just want to make it where the game actually works with players first.

4. There will be up to 8 players, each being able to select his/her game piece before the game starts.

5. I'm still debating how to create weather effects. Since the weather effects aren't centered directly on the region, im thinking i should add each weather effect to each space through triggers (if that even helps straighten out the effects) or just create global randomly switching weather effects that span across the map and change after a certain time.

I have sent keeperofstormz the map, and programming will hault pending completion of the terrain (yes, that means 100%). He will have as much time as he needs to complete the map to his liking. I don't know how fast of a worker he is, but he will have as much time as he needs. After terraining is complete, i will work to complete the triggers.

If anyone has a custom sound of dice being rolled, that is maybe around 50KB, i would appreciate it if they could attach it to this post or email it to me at [email protected]
For doing this, i will add your name to the credits.

Hey everyone. I just want to say im sorry for not posting in such a long duration of time. I have been preoccupied with personal issues such as school and women, so i haven't really had time to attend the forums. I greatly appologize for this.

As for the monopoly project, i needed a break from the stresses of programming for a while. Fear not, the project is still in progress... i just needed a break. I'll continue to update everyone on what i've done. Thanks everyone for your support.

The MDM Monopoly Project is doing very well. So far i have maybe around 45% of the whole map done. Terrain is about 99% complete, it still needs a few touchups. As for the programming, part- i have a lot of work to do still. So far i have made it so where you can roll the dice and take turns doing this. Other options, such as "Unmortgage Property, Buy Houses" are not available yet. Auctioning is also complete, it is very unique and fun.

I have gotten far enough into my work that it is about time that i will be needing some beta testers. It isn't even in the Beta Testing stage yet, but i basically need someone i can rely on to help me with online testing when i need it (like for example, after i add new modules and options to the map). Here are a few requirements for this helper:

1. You must have Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, or AOL Messenger for communication.

2. You must be online a lot, because i work on the map everyday and i will need this person to be there a lot.

This is a major position and will be GREATLY appreciated beyond comprehension. Please feel free to reply to this thread and give me the approperiate information if you wish to be a contributor. I appreciate everyone's help. Thanks again.

I dunno what to say but I've seen this map done. Completed, all done, all triggers, all rules and gameplay from the monopoly board game. Found the map sometime in February. The map was unprotected so I'm attaching it the way I dl'ed it.

Actually i have seen this monopoly map, and it is VERY POOR.

First of all, the terrain is absolutely disgraceful. NO effort at all was put into making the terrain neat and attractive.

Secondly is the triggering. Options were poor, and there was no creativity. My monopoly map will be DIALOG controlled (in 99% of cases) and will keep players informed CONSTANTLY on what is going on in the map, and what the players are doing on their turns. Mine will show the true essence and power of monopoly- Warcraft style! Check out the screenshot too. The terrain is now FULLY complete, i may think of some touch ups later... but for now my heart is 100% satisfied with it. I hope you enjoy it's look! VERY much detail, hard to get it all in one shot!

That screenshot looks amazing. My only criticism is about the lack of "themes" for each "color group." Perhaps it's simply hard to see from the screenshot, but each single square looks different from all of the ones around it. In monopoly, each of "groups" has a common color, and in a wc3 version, yo'd expect a common theme for each group. Am I simply missing that, or did you not do it that way. If not, how come?

In a way they are both alike and different. Here are some details:

All spaces are alike in theme. Like for example, the two lowest valued properties are named Eastern Swamps and Western Swamps. In this case, the names of these 2 purple properties show that they are of the same color group, but the names don't always show alikeness in all of the groups. Another way they are alike is their environment. As you have noticed, each block has its own terrain. As you progress through the board you will notice each color group becomming more elegant and pleasant. Although the appearance for each property of a color group may APPEAR different, it is because i wanted each of them to differenciate while at the same time still having the same theme of that color group.

It is a bit hard to explain, but to make it as short as i can: For example, the first 2 properties on the board are supposed to have a "Swamp" theme... by looking at both, you will notice they look similar to a swamp while at the same time both of them having a different "Swamp" look.

Thats about as far into detail as i can go. I hope this answers your question. If you would like further screenshots, please do request them.
