I'm trying to create a "spellcaster adept traininig" upgrade and everything goes weel until the 2nd upgrade. The third spell is never available; it appears shadowed like you didn't have upgraded. I checked everything: the unit has the correct upgrade, the third spell has "requiresamount = 2" and nothing works. I think may is a bug. What do you think?

This just doesnt seem to work. No matter who I give the ability to, be it hero or normal unit, doesnt matter if they started with it or not, doesnt matter if the ability is a hero or unit ability, the upgrade wont work at all. I even went as far as to make sure everything had the same "race" field, tried manually researching the upgrade. I am definately sure all units had the upgrade in their "upgrades used" field. I added a one hitpoint bonus to it to be sure the upgrade itself was working, and it was.. I am just not getting an ability level bonus. Any advice?

It is not hard to understand. If your hero should go to level (30 or something) and you want it ti gain XP by creeping at level 1 to 30, then you have to make 30 Th thees;

I think you could do something like this:

(80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,80,0)

this would make your characters gain 80% exp off of creeps with the possibility of going to level 30.

rofl, i've forgotten how to get units past level 10, you need to change the maxium XP counter or something, can anyone give me some help here?

In Gameplay Constants there is a Hero Max Level setting, it's default to 10 but you can change it to whatever you want. For the creep reduction... It stops permanently at the last number in the string, and each number from first to last stands for level 1-whatever. That's why the default *permanently* stops hero gaining at level 5, because they are set to 0 as the fifth number exp. You can eliminate all hero leveling problems by just deleting all the numbers in the Creep Reduction Table and simply putting 100 in the field. This creep reduction table really screwed up a lot of RPG maps that were made before TFT :( they should only default to 0% at level 5 for melee maps and be 100% in all other cases.

With the release of 1.13, many mappers will find that the heroes in their maps are attacking at an obscenely slow rate. This can be easily fixed.

Go into Gameplay Constants and scroll down to Hero- attack speed bonus per point of agility. Now set that to 0.02. Boom. Problem solved.

Credit for finding this goes to Chuaiw2000. I just felt like adding this to the FAQ. Sole credit is his and not mine.

Wierd, not sure what you're doing wrong. I know it works because Battledome makes use of it. Although, my suggestion only applies to hero abilities. Unit abilities don't have multiple levels, so I don't know why you'd be testing it on them...

like half of the abilitys in my ability editor are unknown.. I can get by with my abilitydata.slk open but its not fun... whats wrong? I have no .slks extracted from .mpq (looking at it through WinMPQ) and no spell editing in editor... whats wrong? I also get 3 error messages concernig units/abilitydata when i open ability tab up. oh and same problem on buff tab also emote_confused

Ok, I know how to make Custom Loading Screens. Export the Loadingscreen.mdx from Monolith, make the 4 .tga files in 512*512 and 512*256 Quadrants, yadayadayada.
So, I am making this Campaign and I thought, "Well, it says you can make a Custom Background Image, so I will try it out." Did it, worked and looked fine. But, when I looked at how big my 2-Map Campaign was (it will be more then 2-Maps) it was 3.7 MBS! The max size for a Campaign on www.warcraftiii.net is 4 MB. So, I loaded up another Campaign I had downloaded (Tale of the Warsong) to see how they had done it, but still had a small sized Campaign. Well, the maker had used .BLP files instead of .TGA and .BLP is like 10 * smaller. So, I surfed the internet and found the Warcraft III Image Extractor, converted my .TGA files to .BLP, and was all ready to see my Custom Screen when: It was just a PITCH BLACK IMAGE with my First Name! I was like omg... So, I come to all you great mappers now to plz, help me fix this problem and I will give you credit in my upcoming campaign. TY for your time in reading this.
