Importing with WinMPQ is much faster (therefor also easier) than with the Import Manager. |

There's no way you can say it's easier (unless you don't have the map opened in WE), and it doesn't get erased of course. ![]() |

Do you have tried to import something in a map with WinMPQ ? I did and I was very surprised because the editor doesn't recognize the imported file (you cannot select it and it doesn't appear in the import manager) and when one save the map, the file gets erased. |

You are right, thats the bad side of it. The editor can't recognize the imported file, because it's not on the maps import list. I think this needs a solution... |

All would be nice if Winmpq had the ability to edit te file that has the imported files data, or if we could edit it. |
| 09-30-2003, 09:46 PM | #51 |
Yes because adding 400+ items with the Import Manager is painful. |

You can just edit the list yourself... its a fairly simple format. |

Well, in WE Unlimited I create the imp-file for every map you create. I could add an option where it takes a listfile and then creates the imp-file if you think this would be helpful. Sorry if this doesn't fit in the UMSWE 4 thread |

well i mean it kinda does, but it would also make sense for us to kind of "combine forces" since your editor is mainly for single player games and ours is mostly for bnet ones, we could share ideas and files and such and package it all together. Changing the name of your editor to like UMSWE Unlimited or UMSWE vPitzerMike wouldnt be needed but would get our name recognition while still letting you get credit. If you want to discuss this, catch me on AIM or PM or email. I didn't talk to scfreak about this yet, but im sure he wont mind a little collaboration |

Scio, your offer honors me and I share your opinion :D I was just talking with SC Freak a few minutes ago on the IRC channel about that. I think we and mainly the modding community could take profit from a collaboration. But no, vPitzerMike is no good idea. I actually don't want my name in the title of program. This sounds so ... mmh... I can't find a word for that, I guess you know what I mean. But UMSWE Unlimited would sound really cool. Also both editors are well known so I think that it would be a good idea to have all the bnet compatible stuff under the classic UMSWE lable and all the features that require additional files imported under the UMSWE Unlimited lable ... Okay, let's discuss this some other day. Just tell me when I could catch you on the wc3campaigns irc channel or on ICQ... UMSWE Unlimited :ggani: this would really sound awesome |

lol, Is this for SCfreaks editor or WEU? Anywho, either way, I'm happy to see that it's now a zip file... It was taking a tad too long for my tastes... Oh, and on the Editor...Very nice! :foot: |

Its a combination of SCfreak AND MY:bgrun: editor AND WEU, but not really a combination more of a collaboration. You'll get more details later. |

I haven't been able to find an answer to this and I'm a bit puzzled... I have a map created pre-1.10 that has been sitting dormant for a while because it had UMSWE stuff in it. However, now that I can finally open it again (thanks guys!) it only lets me save it as a .w3x. I find this odd because I am doing this on a computer which doesn't even have TFT installed (I want to make sure ROC people can still play it). I remember when I first started using the TFT editor, there was a list of things somewhere that told why it was expansion only, but it doesn't seem to appear here (perhaps because the expansion isn't installed). Is there some way I can keep it as a w3m? |

Look at the Map Properties. Down there it says what are the reasons for that it has to be saved as W3X. Also note that there are some bugs in the WE (we can't fix them, Blizzard has to do that). |
