Do you want some "No special" bonus items? Anyhow, just some new ideas from the DI head: Burning Buckler: Adds a burning effect around the hero who wears it, but not the same color as immolation, something simular. Gives: +10 armor and an effect that will hurt any melee unit that attacks him by 5% of its attack damage done. The stone of Earth Gives: An ability called "bound to earth" (When you hold your mouse over the item, the tooltip will say "Cast bound to earth -mana cost-). Makes the target unit stuck in the ground over 15 seconds and hurts it with 50 dmg on the initial cast. Item is reusable and costs 100 mana per cast. Has a recharge rate of 20 seconds. Ha'sûl Portable Tent Gives: A "sleep" ability. When activated, it will put the hero to sleep, until he/she is attacked. While in sleep, the hero gains 5hp per second but mana regeneration stops completely. |

Guest | for Everyone: every successful hit increases damage dealt by 15% to a max level of 5 (ie, +75%) and reduces armor by one each level (to a max of -5), if no successful attack in 5 seconds, resets damage and armor to normal for ???? every successful hit increases damage by 15% to a max level of 10 (ie +150% or 2.5 times) with no armor penalty, if no successful attack in 10 seconds, resets damage to normal I don't know what hero it would fit with best... I figure a melee fighter would be most appropriate... possibly death knight or dwarven war machine? Giving the hero wielding this item an aura of some sort, or give them a size increase incrementally would be cool.. Feel free to mod this accordingly if you like the idea. |

Guest | Here's a silly idea for you... Lumberjack Axe of Turning For everyone: Gives +5 to attack and gives owner the ability to attack trees For Dwarven War Machine: DWM the ability to attack trees, +15 to attack and a 5% chance to turn attacked unit into a tree Also a Possession ability would be cool. Something that turns the caster invisible and invulnerable (or disable controls) and takes control of a unit.. Life swap: exchanges life totals of targeted unit and caster Mana swap: same deal 'cept for mana Balance: gives targeted unit and caster equal life totals, based on the higest life total between the two (could also be used for mana or both) cursed items would be cool too... they only come out of a hero's inventory when they die well, that's all for now... |

Based on mpitaji's idea: Highexplosive Footwear: Gives: A automatic explosion, when the hero dies, the explosives within the boots explodes. Killing all non-hero units within a range of 300 and hurting heros 500 hp and 50% their mana. Also, this should cost quite a bit, since it is quite powerfull. Tool-tip: When these boots, loaded with highexplosive material, such as gunpowder and nitroglycerin, stops feeling the weight of your hero, it ignites. The result is a lethal blow around your dead hero. |

Vengeance Soul This is for skeleton lord dude With this item you gain the load body ability, or simply just walk over one to make it dissapear and the item then recieves a charge. When you use one of the charges a shade appears and goes on a kamikaze run towards the nearest enemy controlled by computer. This will have the exploison ability of the goblin sappers but is visible to all players the item should look like a mana stone but with white/grey streaks in it |

Some pretty cool ones, keep in mind I cant use all of them. Well, since this seems ot be my brainstorming crew, I want to make one more Hero for dark, it seems that the unholy shade is not going to work out. So start brainstomring folks! It's going to be an agility hero, needs AT LEAST 4 spells, possibly more, but total levels must = 10. (i.e. you could have 2 3lvl, 1 2lvl, and 2 1lvl) Lets see what you guys come up with. |

Fixated Eye (Req: lvl 1; Has 2 lvls) Does: Gives a sight of the tagetted unit over 30-40 seconds, meaning you can see whereever the unit goes. This could be done by the mini-map. Also damages the unit 30-40 dmg, then divided by two until there is only 1 dmg done. Spanned over the 30-40 seconds. Tool-tip: Fixate the eye on a target unit and see wherever the unit goes. Also does damage under a period of "whatever is the period". Deaths Touch (Req: lvl1; Has 2 lvls) Does: Does a touch (requiering the unit to be next to the other unit, please play some "touch" animation for this) and damages 200-300. Uses 1/5 of heros mana. Tool-tip: Touch the target unit and give it a touch it will not soon forget. -effect- Haquries Mage Book (Req: lvl 1; Has 3 lvls) Does: Basicly works as a booster pack. Add whatever you think is balanced, and then multiply it by 1.25 per level. Tool-tip: Haquires book was made by the powerfull mages of Ha'sûl. The strange noices heard scares the opponent. -effect listing- Ratchas Blast (Req: lvl 6; Has 1 lvl) Does: Blasts target unit into smitherines. I was thinking of a "beam" for this. A thick one, is possible? Basicly takes away 70% of the units health. Costs 4/5 of the heros mana though. Tool-tip: Ratchas forgotten powers are avoced by using this powerfull blast. Ratchas Blast removes the bigger part of the target units health. Sour Poison (Req: lvl 6; Has 2 lvls) Does: Posions the target unit, prefferibly with yellow or purple effect. Does a damage of 30-40 for 5-6 seconds. 30-40 per second. Cost 2/10 of heros mana. Tool-tip: Sour Poison invenomates the target unit with posion of the sour sort. Sour Posion is summoned from the darker regions of the Ha'sûl realm. -effect- Okay, now, this is a set. Also goes with my "tent". All relates to the Ha'sûl idea thingy. (Ha-suyl) |

Summon Wraith: Cunning Hero, adept at Hero controll. Can learn Burst of Speed, Fear, Fog and Drain. Learn Burst of Speed:[*] 50 Gives Wraith a temporary boost of speed; lasts 5 seconds Level 1 - 75% increase to movement base Level 2 - 150% increase to movement base Level 3 - 300% increase to movement base Learn Fear: [*] 100 Causes target enemy unit to flee from combat. Level 1 - target flees for 5 seconds Level 2 - target flees for 10 seconds Level 3 - target flees for 15 seconds Learn Fog:[*] 10 Encases Wraith in a deadly black fog that deals damage to all surrounding units. Level 1 - 15 damage per second Level 2 - 20 damage per second Level 3 - 25 damage per second Learn Drain:[*] 200 Permanently drains 1 agility point from target hero giving a temporary agility bonus to Wraith for 120 seconds. Here's my contribution, feel free to yank and pull what you like. I just threw numbers in where ever needed, so don't take this as an attempt at game balance in anyway. Hope this helps :) |

Hmm... I don't like the above. The spells are also too original. We've had a LOT of wraith heros already. Besides, the agility thing kinda sucks :). Anyhow, I'll prolly need a model or a heavily skinned new unit for my idea. |

Guest | i didn't realize there was a peanut gallery... Anyhow, in defense: How can you have spells that are TOO original?? That statement seems perfectly silly... Too many Wraiths? Change it, simple enough. There are a plethora of viable alternatives, Banshees, Ghosts, Poltergeists, Apparitions, Zombies, Vampires (or any lycanthrope), Carrion Crawlers, various assorted Demons, or even a just all around bad dude (take your pick from murderers, sociopaths, cultists, etc.). What about the Agility thing 'kinda sucks'? The numbers (as I had mentioned previously) are just place-holders. If it sucks, tweak the numbers. I would think that in a hero arena, this could be extremely powerful. It all depends on how you tweak the essentails (how much drained, how big of a boost, what kind of cooldown, etc.). As for the other spells, I think burst of speed, though not 'novel', would be a *gasp* useful spell, especially for an agility hero. Fear I think is a novel idea, and fitting for a hero of 'dark'. Fog is just a play on immolation except it does more damage for less and effects ALL units. It seemed appropriate at the time. Personally, I will keep my opinions and criticisms on other people's suggestions to myself, as any negative comments may discourage them not to post their ideas. I would hate for ShadowElf2002's map to suffer for lack of creative input. |

Chill off mate, lol. No offence. It all comes down to Shadow, whatever anyone else thinks. I was just putting in my two cents. Also, notice my spelling error? Unoriginal instead of original would make more sense, would it not? I know it's changeable, but in YOUR IDEA, I didn't see that a wraith would fit, in the game. And your idea stated one of the sort should be used. I never said it was a permanent thing or something unchangeable. Fear is reaaaally boring. The agility thing isn't at all that usefull and basicly isn't a thing I'd ever use. The Fog could be good with a new effect. I do like the Speed Boost ability, really much. Although, a name change is needed for it, the name of "Boost of Speed" isn't really that apeeling... :ggani: Anyhow, something else with FAST as general development area could be cool. |

I personally like several of the wraith's ideas, in part because they will work for a hero Im already working ion, the Unholy Shade. However, I do agree that his ultimate is a little underpowered for an ultimate. So keep up the good work guys! |

Guest | Closing arguments: I actually like Fear as an ability... Oh, I'm low on life and after wacking Player 1, but great, here comes Player 2... FEAR. Now I proceed to go heal while P2 runs away like a little girl. Agreed on the name change for Burst of Speed. Crazed Sprint perhaps? Desperation? If I actually put some thought into it, I might be able to come up with a better one, but I thought the important part was getting it down before I forgot. I would hope fog would have a different effect than normal Immolation... otherwise it wouldn't be very fitting. And for the Ultimate; I really don't know what kind of arena it will be, so I error'd on the side of caution in my suggestion. Anything that permanently lowers a hero's stat is significant. Imagine this with a cool down like heal? Or say it knocked out 5 agility and gave the 'wraith' 10 temporarily? If there's alot of dying and coming back, and if this hero decides to pick on one player, that receiving hero is going to really be hurting. Perhaps you can make it temporary for both and increase the numbers significantly, say 20 agility from hero until next revival, and the 'wraith' gets twice that added for a certain amount of time. Anyway, this is intended only to clarify my original posting on the subject. If you like it, cool, if not, that's fine too. |

i dunno bout the stats but heres some spells that I believe would aid an agility type killers embrace the animation of the soul steal with the claws coming out of the ground around the hero, this is similar to entangled roots except that it has slow poison attached to it, add how ever much dmg per level Insatiable Hunger Its an aura that makes the hero and nearby friendlies eat the corpses of fallen foes and gain short bursts of speed as a bonus Segregated Pain Creates a small barrier around an enemy and drains hp at a variable rate from level of the spell the unit is still mobile but is immune to positive/negative buffs till the spell wears off, attacks should also be either hampered or disabled by this Nightmares Dash This is the ultimate it's like carrion swarm with 3 black riderless horse units charging at a unit and causing chaos damage this is only for fairly shortrange as the spell lasts for 6 seconds but its an AOE spell affecting all around it friend or foe These are just toss around spells if one of those don't fit Disturbing Junction Two boulders appear either side of the unit and moves in to crush the unit stunning it for 10 seconds and doing slight damage Vindictive spirit Sets loose a host of small critters (1,2,3) onto the target unit that seemed possessed and have high Evasion stats (because they are crazy posessed creature... :ggani: ) so its hard to concentrate on the enemy with a rat attacking yer feet lol Dark Aura This is just a negative version of brilliance not very original but its easy to achieve. As you may guess it slowly depletes enemy mana near the hero Have fun with these ideas and tell me what u think |

Guest | iceslushee gave me a good idea from his last post.... wouldn't it be cool to summon a small pack of rats? They could be plague-bearers, not doing much damage and poisoning whatever it attacks. or they could just be large numbers that attack for a little bit. Hell, you could even make a Dark summoner. There are all sorts of summoners for the other races, but nothing really for undead (barring the new hero from FT). Summon Plague Bearers, Animate Ghost, summon wolf, summon vulture... all sorts of things... Just a random thought |
