WE Unlimited - New Editor - Download, Questions, Suggestions

Okay, here's the link to the fixed installer. I'm quite sure it will work now for everyone, and this time it's English:D

http://mitglied.lycos.de/pitzermike/
Just click 'Download WE Unlimited' to download the new setup.

@ vjeux: I looked into it again and the strings you were missing are definitely in WEStrings.txt and it also seems to work for the others as nobody else seems to complain about it. But thanks anyway.

@Panto: You're right, I will point out I don't recommend WEU for multiplayer maps at the top for the following reason. As you will already have seen maps that want to use advanced trigger actions need my custom Blizzard.j injected. And in my bnet tests it seemed that maps with Blizzard.j imported only work correctly if the map is not the first map started on bnet. So if I started another map before they worked just fine but if it was the first map I got disconnected on map init. Maybe I'm wrong I didn't test it on bnet that much.
Anyway I think you may use all other features without any problems.

Okay, just to point it out again: If you don't use one of these three features in your map:
-> Midi Ambient Sound Support (requires WEU Game Patch)
-> Up to 10 different cliff tiles (requires WEU Game Patch)
-> Enabled buff icon and buff tooltip editing for the ability editor (requires WEU Game Patch)
everyone will be able to play the map without the game patch. The game patch is only required for these three features. (because the required files can't be read from within the map)

@ Pen²: I'm quite sure these features will work on bnet but I recommend to do a testmap before.

@ Xzarol: I'll download the map and look into it. If you used advanced trigger actions in a map you created with normal WE before this will be the reason for your errors. Read below:

Remember: you can't use advanced features on already existing maps (as they don't have the required files imported). For advanced triggers for example you need blizzard.j imported. You can add advanced features to a map by importing the required files yourself.

@ Everyone
see my first post for some new Important notes, I'll always update my first post if there's something new

@ Pitzer:

Noch was:

@ Everyone here:
Don't care about the content of the post above. It's just one more feature he should implement in further versions ... :D

***********
This might be of interest for all of you: If you add custom cliff tiles to your tileset the editor will say this map is only playable with the WEU Game Patch. Well, that's not quite true.
You may add these tiles and as long as you only use them as ordinary ground tiles the map can be played by everyone. But as soon as you use them with the 'Apply Cliff' tool the cliff won't show up correctly in game if it's not started with the game patch.

Trotzdem ein bisschen unkomfortabel alles. Man kann die Tiles eben nur am Anfang ändern, weshalb man sich genau überlegen sollte, was man nimmt. ...
Naja, trotzdem gute Arbeit.

lots of the advanced triggers dont work. Contact me and Ill give you a full list...

PitzerMike
Once again, they all work if you observe the rules stated in the readme. Some advanced actions require special files imported into your map....

Well you can give me your list, maybe one or two don't work correctly but I tested all the functions myself and they did work if used correctly...

@ Xzarol: war3mapUnits.doo was corrupted in your map. But I'm convinced the problem hasn't been caused by WEU because it never deals with that file. Such problems already occured with normal WE befor sometimes...
Anyway I fixed it for you.

Oh, and I deleted the ai scripts and Blizzard.j to make the download smaller. You'd have to add them again...

Do I need to re-add them? Or is it only if its a melee map. Cause mine is a Aos style. And also would advanced features only be the specific three you have to download seprately, or can I used the advanced Editor with my regular map?

PitzerMike
Oh, you don't need to add the ai scripts if it's not a melee map.
But Blizzard.j will be required if you want to use any of the trigger functions in the 'Advanced -' Category.

I noticed the Blizzard.j is 655k if i loaded a map i was workin on for a while and try advanced triggers non work but if i import the .j file will they work? will it increase my map size +655k? or can i make the advanced trigger, save it, then remove the imported .J file?

PitzerMike
advanced triggers only work if BJ is imported. In the MPQ it will only make about 100 kb.

Where is blizzard.j, I need it because I edited a buff so every time it crashes right when I cast it :(.

BTW, if you feel like just doing it for me instead of describing, I'm attaching the map.

Other than that this is great :D !

blizzard.j IS in the map when it is created. He only removed it from the map to be able to upload it (I think it is that way at least :p)
