I'm not sure what you mean by small wall stacked two high
what i did was use a small wall and make its size much bigger, then i overlapped them
if i don't overlap then they don't connect together, there is a little space in between each,
i'll try some other things though for the walls and i'll look at your trailer.

Hi all, registered on the forum but had the same problem as gambit (no confirmation mail)

Anyways just came across this thread, very interested in helping. I noticed you have a lack of an ability handler or anyone that works on the stats/properties of the units; will gladly assist with both roles. I also have a lot of knowledge of Tolkein's books (friends bug me about it :D), and as you seemed intent to follow them closely I will be glad to help. Mapwise, can assist anywhere requested, including Jass script (getting going at it), quest/trigger handling, cinematic, terrain, whatever...give me a landscape & i'll take it on :D

Also on your web site you hade a thread relating to LotR sites, here's a few i have bookmarked:
Encyclopedia of Arda (great reference site)
Tolkienion (very good artwork/maps library)
LordotRings.com (very good overall site)

LordotRings.com has the best timeline i've *ever* seen for the books, detailing the individual comings and goings of all the characters as the story progresses. The hardest part of the campaign will likely be right at the beginning of the Return of the King: five plotlines at that point :ggani:

I'm also interested in working on a city, Tirith, Morgul, Bree, Barad-dûr (would have to do some skinning for last one). Here's an example of a normal wc3 city I was working on for and rpg... I concentrate a lot on detail (since rpg's are always played from a over-the-shoulder 3p view in wc you see much more stuff up-close, and from every camera angle). I've finished the central castle, laid out about half of the major roadways, and some of the upper district. Still in early progress; have passed the theme-creation stage and getting to distributing the picked themes across the map (themes being method of neiborhood layout, amount vegitation, roadway appearance, etc.)

And here's a map I was working on back when the game first released; note that it was a singleplayer mission and is associated with a war3patch file etc so will have some issues if you run it in the game alone. I was building the old capitol of the Night Elves, before the sundering of the continents. The mission would end when you reached the west gate, and would continue inside the city on a second map (so I could seperate city and outskirt detail to increase playability and decrease loading size). It's more or less just another example of what I enjoy doing, map wise

Sorry about the delay heres my map of Gondor, do what you like to it or give me suggestions

Maybe someone said this as a reference, (besides me) but the Atlas of Middle Earth gives GREAT reference for layouts of cities.

Ah the White Tree of Valinor does exist...(Telperion)

Ausome people, sorry about the board Arcuvie did not get the confirmation email working. You can still log on and post though. Arcuvie's been working on his site. www.modzetc.com so he hasnt been too involved in the modeling aspect. He supposed to have the hobbit hole model, the nazgul (skin?) and a beginning of a hobbit model. Since I have weak skillz in terraining, models and/or skins I have been twiddling my thumbs. I will talk to Arcuvie either tonight or tommarow (hopefully) and we will have some mapping for people to do. I will be posting more information on the board so dont get worried.

PS - Heaven was supposed to be doing mapping too. IF YOUR OUT THERE HEAVEN WHERES THE MAP!!!

Thanks for the sites telperion. :)

I love LOTR and think the movie was one of the best movies ever made. But it pails in comparison to Tolkin's masterpiece. I would prefer a game based on the book than on the movie. I think it would be neat if you had choices like at Caradhras (the mountain that in the book defeats them not Saruman the Manny Coloured witch he is at that time [I am Canadian so I spell it colour not color] ) There is a cinematic where Borimir, Gandalf, and Gimli (I have stopped checking spelling of names) give their opinions and Frodo chooses by typing “gap”, “up”, or “mines” to choose if they go to the Gap of Rohan, continue up the mountain, and through the mines. I have waited very impatiently for some one to make a good LOTR mod/map/scenario for War 3. I am trying to learn some the map editor and custom skins but I am not so good… If I get good or find anything to help I will see what I can do. I have downloaded all the files need for editing skins but I only have paint to do the artwork. And how much can you do on paint? (I am about to find out.) So far the best LOTR mod I have found has Borimir as an orc and Legolas was blue and had boobs. The Balrog was big and part green! (Infernal, the Demon with 60 some red and zero on the rest (tint) and increased in size is far better. But I am sure your custom skins will be far better.) I wish you all the best of luck and am looking forward to you mod, now I must eat…

P.S. There is a very good LOTR mod coming out from “Wild Fire Games” called “The Last Alliance” it is for Age of Empires II. I am buying the game so I can down load and play that mod when it is done.
