New Hosting Policy: Discussion and Complaints

i never ever accused admins of doing this. i just think that fooling an admin in order to attack a site is just a lower-tech hacking alternative. and raging, i probably phrased it wrong but i meant the fact that you had it in your sig, i assumed that this meant you approved of it. i know it wasn't actually you, i am actually more interested in how people will try to justify this.

While I personally dislike Palin, if you can live with him I see no reason why you would choose wc3c over CC for project hosting. The quality of the hosting itself is about equal, you're far less likely to get screwed over by CC than wc3c, and you recieve more publicity. Yes, they have fewer visitors, but I would be surprised if any of their regulars couldn't name all of the active projects. Here, I would be surprised if anyone could name all of the projects without looking at the list. Start a new project here, and no one will notice. Get your project hosted there, and their entire community will notice.

As there are other options, if you don't like wc3c's hosting policies, just leave. Yes, deleting a project without warning is immature and stupid, but did you expect anything less? As long as Skull has any power here, you can never expect intelligence to have a significant influence on what happens. I have been banned once by Skull, and while I did deserve it for other reasons, the official reason that he told me was that I dared to show him how to improve the site, and attacking him for failing to do some basic things. All he truely cares about is his own status, and anything that he feels infringes on it will be removed.

Hi all This is my first post in a long time. But someone at Mod Forge pointed this thread out to me so I had to take a look! After reading through it I just wanted to say something. Here is what I have to say. And I don't really care what other people say about this.

ragingdemon your full of ****! You say someone got hold of the passes to mod forge accounts and mass pruned us right? Well yes that is true. But guess what The only person who can get hold of the passwords are ADMINS aka Skull. After skull gave the passes to you or Dore you took there account and screwed it up and spammed the site with the stolen accounts.

Also ragingdemon made a little java script or someone did and used it on us. This java script did a pop up message that said
"Welcome to the 7 day of Hell at mofo. We left a little calling card on your front page." Or something like that. Once this happened all that could be done was click the ok button. Once you did that it would open a page to wc3c home page and it would open 1000000000000000 of the same page with a guy holding this *** hole open and his dick is hanging down. Now once I saw that horrific picture I Though of Dore, ragingdemon and skull! This is just some of the CRAP these 3 people did! They spammed the site with "WC3 MOD FORGE SUCKS" and other **** like that.

And guess what! You did not hurt wc3 mod forge 1 bit! Were better then ever right now! More guests are coming by the day! You can stop us from growing. Were just a moding site like you trying to make wc3 better then it is now! Is that too hard? I should not be. And if you think it is, go to hell. Anyways. That is all.

And this is to Dore, ragingdemon and skull it called a IP address. We know who dose what to our site. We might be small but our moral is stronger then ever and that can never be broken.

Sorry about this post but people have to know. And if you delete this I have it saved so don't even try.

I was in the modforge channel, and i saw Skull And Dorelian take it over. I have the logs to prove it. It cannot be denied that Skull did indeed try to damage modforge. if you think anythign else, you are one blind *** indeed. Either that, or you are trying to kiss up to Skull to be a moderator or something.

Sicne we all know this thread is basically useless, lets end it before the mods find out we are T H I N K I N G W I T H O U R O W N M I N D S. . .

You guys (wc3c) aren't the only members on the block, despite yout home page title, "Home of the Warcraft III Modding community."

Quite frankly, a huge forum does not dictate a great site. Nor does it dictate (in this case) it being the "home" of the war3 modders. There are many others out there, both new and old. What's more, not all of them exists here.

"The modding community is a community" sums it ALL up. WC3C is not the only one. There are other modders, other modding sites, and WC3C is not the only one, rather it's just the largest.

Using that statement, well, if it us a comm., then what's the problem w/ hosting in multiple areas? I recently 'assisted' in merging forums between 2 sites. This is a community, there are others. If WC3C is so big and all-powerful, when this happened I stopped to wonder why. Domain name? Possibly. Because people liked it? I mean, free hosting? Of course.

But there comes a point when sharing w/ others (the point of a community) is restricted, and that's where the community...dies. It is no longer a community, rather it's just a site with no lasting affiliations of worth. Yes, you can link to the "big boyz" and be known everywhere, but when you disallow something as simple as MORE publicity.....it's not a community. It's a dictatorship. Your point is no longer to even think of other sites, rather it's to help yourself.

I've always watched over WC3C, and observed what happened. I've watched a grand many disputes, come to pass and then slowly dissipate. I've seen (IMO) a grand many decisions that were NOT good for WC3C as a whole in the long run, and far too many decisions that made sense for the time and the events. This is one of those....lacking. No one will think less of anyone if this decisions IS reversed.....why would they? It bring a mod MORE publicity, it brings forth a larger fan base and integrates you with others. Not doing so....is folly. You guys have a huge fanbase, and a mass of mods/etc. Yet you refuse to gain more of such things from fellow sites.......I really, really wonder at times.

Nope. Hollowman was the one who gave dorelian the encrypted passwords and the brute force cracker. It was HIS fault. Hollowman directly gave means for the site to be mass pruned.

Yes, Skull did indeed purchase some hosting and a forum. Thats all that he built it into, and thats all that wc3c is now.

Bullshit. When I read the posts on your forum, I saw that your admins were stating that the wrong people hacked the site, like one time you stated three people hacked it, while it was all the work of one.

Why does everyone think MoFo is such a good site anyway? They have been banning random people for ages now. Like me and Semptimaru were banned for saying that Blaster wasn't spread through b.net. And all their mods who Hollowman let `Dorelian access were banned ("No questions asked."). Heck, he practically GAVE the passwords over.

Im sick of this stupidity. TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT: There is no hosting rule. You are allowed to host your project where ever you want, you can advertise your project where ever you want. Unless the site your being hosted at is wc3mf. You may not think this is fair, but I personally have a problem with hollowman, the wc3mf owner, and refuse to cooperate this his site. This may seem like a childish rule to you, but I have been offended multiple times is private chat by the owner of wc3mf. They have spammed our forums, tried to bribe our projects and have pretty much been a thorn in my side. Zurg has a great project, and im sorry that it had to be used as an example, but it was his choice, wc3c of wc3mf.


Wc3c never hacked wc3mf. Wc3mf hacked wc3mf. Dorelian a cofounder of wc3mf had a disagreement with hollowman, he gave skull his password and they proceded to delete things randomly at wc3mf. They are indeed both wc3c staff members, but this does not mean this was some kinda orginaized and conded action by me or my staff(well maybe two of them).

and i know you said the mass prune was not your doing, but im pretty sure from your last post that the seven says of excitement was, and threatening to hack again.

anyway, what's the point in hacking the site? it'll bring it down for a few days, but generally it won't bring a site down forever.

It was not 'hacking'. Any eight year old can use a mod account and go around deleting threads. Justification? They smell. We dont like them. You dont like our reason? Tough.
