Yeah the temptress is pretty cool. I think attract would work more logically if it lowered an enemy unit's defence rather than attack, since when you're infatuated by an enemy you're more likely to lower your defence against them than hit them more lightly. Whatever, it might be advisable not to listen to me - I'm an idiot. emote_confused The Ghost ranger is like a unit I had on my campaign. She could 'astral project' into the astral plane. This would render her invisible and unable to attack but she could still manipulate objects and possess enemy units. Good luck with this one, she may be a tad too powerful though. |

yes, but the thing is with ethereal form: in ethereal form she will still be able to use her magic arrows, wich makes etherial for really really good on her. imagine suicide runz on towers; she cant get hit by them. believe me, etherial form is VERY good as an ultimate for her :gsmile: at least.. i think.. magic arrows do count as a spell do they? so you can use them in etherial? damn i gotta check that out first thing in the morning... if that doesnt work her concept is ruined. So what is this map. Like you have a hero right on either side. And units just start spawning everywhere to fight. Is it kind of Dota style? Where you fight with heros and units just spawn and go to the other side?!? Anywayz heres a hero for Maive or whats her name Sentinal Rider Beta Model of Priestess of Moon. Riding owl instead of tiger. Primary: Agil Function: Healer/Flying Range unit Spirit Rain [3] - Ward modeled with Rain effect of Moonsoon with no collisions. Sweet Scent [3] - Aura based on Unholy Aura without speed bonus. Regenerates health to ally unit. Sentinal Run [1] - Stampeded based with Sentinal Scout as model of spell. Sound of Starfall instead of Stampede. Sentinal Scout [3] - Just like lightning hawk but sentinal model Nature's Shot [3] - Based of Fans of Knivez but have the target hero with Tranquility model and units affected by it have the model of Starfall Buff. Neutral Ability: Sentinal Owl Nashas one that recharges. Hero should have low hp and is meant to heal other Heros. All of this can be done. I did all the spells on my other map [not panda map] but later canceled on it. Its just a pain in the ass to do all the text tooltips. So many copy past and edit. Heh. |

Yeah I just noticed that command. Heres another hero. Sided with Illidan Druid of the Seas Druid of the Talon tinted?!? Primary: Inteligence Cyclone[3] - Blade Storm based off. Use Blue Tornado model as spell. Tidal Wave[3] - Crushing wave but with a waterfall as projectile model Lightning Shock[3] - Based of Drain spell. Change lightning effects from Drain to Chain Lightning Aquatic Aura[3] - Slight mana regeneration and evasion to each unit effected Sea Dragon Form[1] - Transform to a devestating Blue Dragon Neutral ability - Submerge |

you gotta make spells that are reasonable... Cyclone = impossible Aquatic = impossibly hard to do, alot of triggers Submerge = useless? no deep water here. |
| 02-04-2004, 04:23 AM | #69 |
You should do at least 5 abilities per hero, i think that each player likes heroes with 5 abilities instead of 4, and you can even add a normal unit ability to the hero, increasing the number of abilities of the hero to 6, this should really expand gameplay in AoS maps :gsmile: |

The cyclone spell is just a Blade Storm spell thats goes 3 levels. Instead of like what the blade master is doing spinning around. Its animations would be the Tornado model from the Tornado Spell of the Sea Witch. Aquatic Aura would be Brilliance Aura. I'm guessing the evasion wouldnt work then. Or might be alot of triggers. If not submerge maybe have it a metamorphasis spell to transform into a sea serpent which can be found at campaign creations. |

'Sea Dragon Form' transforming the druid into a Blue Dragon seems a bit wrong, since blue dragons seem to be completely cold-elemental in the WC universe. A hydra or some blue-greenish type of dragon would probably be more suited. Also, I just hate it when people go around saying 'impossible' when they have absolutely no idea whatsoever about anything related in any way, shape, or form to anything that even SOUNDS remotely like map making or related crafts. :cuss: Aquatic Aura would work just fine using a bit of buff comparison: If you allow for some slight delay when removing the aura, it shouldn't cause any lag to the map. Cyclone is also quite possible, just a simple special effect attachment. I guess I'll add a hero suggestion here, too: Blood Elf Voidwalker A blood elf mage, originally a follower of Kael, who has mastered the art of Walking the Void. Now, his only loyalty lies with Lord Illidan, but which is stronger? That loyalty, or his thirst for magic that has grown beyond that of the other Blood Elves? Intelligence-based. Model of Spellbreaker or Blood Elf Mage. Abilities: Mana Void (Aura/Passive, Triggered): The Voidwalker's thirst for mana actually manifests itself in the area around him, slowly draining away the mana of his enemies and replenishing his own. Drains 1 mana/second per skill level from nearby enemies, giving it to the Voidwalker. Mana Burst (Triggered): The Voidwalker transfers all his own mana to the target hero in an unstoppable torrent, damaging both the mind and body of the target. For each 1 mana of the caster, the target gains 0.25 mana and takes 1 damage per level. For example, a level 3 Mana Burst used by a Voidwalker with 250 mana would deal 750 damage and give the target 63 mana. This spell is hard to use: It is only usable from melee range, and takes a second or two to cast. Void Rift (Triggered): Opens up a small rift beneath the targetted unit or hero, causing it to be lost in the void forever... or at least for a little while. Has a 10% chance per level to kill low-level units instantly: If it fails, they are treated as everything else. Heroes and most units hit by it are removed from the game for a random number of seconds between 1 and 10 per skill level, and takes 5 damage for every second spent in the void upon returning. Mindstorm (Triggered): This ability attacks the minds of enemies in the target area, leaving them stunned for a while. Heroes are stunned for a time directly proportional to their intelligence: The higher intelligence, the longer stun. Dark Eternity (Triggered): One of the most horrible spells in existance, this spell of blackest sorcery can only be cast by an user with full mana, and will always, regardless of the outcome, take the caster's life - even if nothing else is caught in the area of effect. What it does is simple: It creates a gateway from the position of the caster into the black depths of the Void itself, causing everything and everyone in the immediate area to be sucked towards it. Yes, this includes units, heroes, towers and other buildings. When something reaches the gateway, it is gone: Condemed to float through the black infinity of the void forever. (A rather horrible fate, actually.) Heroes with quick feet that aren't too close to the center can escape with some fast clicking, but it's not easy. (Hereoes lost in the void can, of course, be revived as usual.) Oh, and it does affect allied units and heroes: This ability should be used with great care. |

flying heros is cheat. (read the rest, and i dont think you understand what maievs forces are mostly about. becouse of the pact with the lich king, the watchers lost a big part of their bond with nature, leaving dark magics only.and besides, we allready have a Maiev healer.) the aquatic druid has one skill too much, we like to restrict it to four skills. a fith skill can be purchased at shops in the form of 'spell books'. only one of these spellbooks can be cary per hero. these spellbooks will mainly cary unit skills. examples of spellbooks: -Necromancers Spellbook: cast unholy frenzy -Banshees Spellbook: cast anti-magic shell. thing like that. all these suggestions are great, but we dont really need any more new spellcaster, we've pretty much sorted out all the spellcasters and all the assasins we are going to use. The biggest problem now is the tanks. we allready have a tank thats for certain on Maievs side: Scarabian Mauler, a cryptlord with slightly alternated skills. we are also for sure that we will use a Mermedan and a Sea giant at Illidans side, we are not sure about the skills though. for the third strenght guy we where thinking about a blood captain skin. for maiev we might use druid of the claw skin (darkened) and a beast master skin (darkened)... but if anyone has any superb mindblowing ideas for a Maiev strength hero, be my guest. and what kinda skills you think the blood captain should have? (he wont be called blood captain, thats just a working name :D (i was thinking in the frame of either blood related skills or fire related skills, but using fitre related skills means that we cant use our fire mage anymore, wich leaves us with an open spot for a new Illidan caster... but as far as it is now i'm pretty content with that fire mage...) more hero updates soon to come, and the contents of some of the shops. wups, missed your post... i think your hero idea is very impressive, but a bit too complicated. first of all we only use 4 skills, and second of all we mainly want easy skills that arni that hard to understand for easy accesable gameplay. besides that i think he might just be a tiny bit overpowered... (deal 750 dmg...)(suck buildings into a void...) i know you tried to compesate with long cooldown and high prizes, but some things are even then still to powerfull for an eos... strength ideas people... strength... spellcasters are relativly easy to think of. thnx for the great help with everything though... and MoOp its good to finally hear from you man... |

Mind if I give one a whack? Battledruid or Gaia's Claw Illidan Neutral ability - Has Cloak when within short distance of a tree Abilities: Wrath of Gaia - Toned down Stampede, made into normal ability (less damage and duration, plus lower mana and cooldown). Tooltip: Bring down the wrath of Gaia on your opponents, causing rampant animals to assault them. Gaia's Blessing - Hero version of Bloodlust. Tooltip: Bless your allies with the grace of Gaia, making them more adept in combat. Gaia's Blessing - Endurance aura. Tooltip: Gaia watches over you, granting you and nearby allies a boost to attack and movement speed. Soul of Gaia - Ultimate: Avatar-based. Tooltip: Invoke the spirit of Gaia, making the hero much more powerful. |

Well, thx for all the support guys! we really really appreciate it. Lets make one thing clear now: Maev will feature dark, soul, poison etc kinda spells. Illidan will feature: water and fire. So we cant use any ''earth teamed'' hero's in our aos. As for your hero, bulletcatcher, i find it very impressive. But as erwten said: we want to make this map as easy as possible,( not that we cant make that hero) noobfriendly, and laggles and based on the ''pop a cap'' system for oldskool hardcore pawning action. Teamwork is the most inmportant thing. hehe.... told ya erwten, my creations are fine as they are :D So if somwhone comes up with a leet dark/poison themed maiev hero, we will be eternal gratefull! keep up the good work. EDIT: the leveling system goes like this: every skill has 4 levels, and the ultimate has 2 levels. That makes a hero's ultimate level: 14. |

actually not 'just' some dark themed hero, we need 2 more strength heros and we need another intel, wich will have ice skills and lich skin. i'll go have a chat with vig0r and post a hero list of what we have now, with all the gaps. we have like 3 fully completed heros and 3 non existant heros with just a vague idea, the rest of the heros have an idea and a theme, just miss one or two skills... we'll try to get a list up here. |
