OK, I've played the game four times now, once with the Fire Mage and once with the Eredar Warlock and twice with the Feng Shui Panda. (Eredar are one of my favorite units, so I must say thank you for including one.) I have compiled a list of the problems I detected and a mention of those that others have. This list's purpose is to give a one post description of what should be fixed. Anything saying to view another post was something discovered by someone else.
Update: I have now concluded my Beta testing until another version surfaces. Unfortuantely, I could not check all the buffs, units, and such because the Object Data was buried away and I was too lazy to dig up, but I have located what I could.
Things to Fix- Greater Creep Diversity: You could make this a better map if there were more types of creeps rather then just different variation of the same model with a different element.
- More Ability Levels: You could go well up into the 40's in level, but the highest level ability you can get is four. make the abilities have more level. A reason for this is, at level 40, your enemy players are nearly unkillable with spells.
- The Soul Gem: The Soul Gem didn't work for me. I used it and it just went away, which was agrivating after I spent 1,800 gold on it.
- Tooltips: The tooltips usually only show 3 levels of the ability, rather then all four.
- Disabled Icons: Most of your custom icons don't have disabled versions. {Note: See the update at the bottom of this post.}
- Creep Challenge Level: The creeps challenge level is a little difficult in the beginning, but wasn't as difficult towards the end. Not to mention, every single creep seems to have a stun move! That's a litle cheap...
- Computer Controlled Heros: The com was ALWAYS a higher level then me, dispite the fact I absolutely slaughtered it! I think the coms should level up normally.
- AI: The computers fight rather cheaply. It fought until it grew weak and then ran away and sat by a fountain. After it began sitting here, the com was almost impossible to kill. Also, the com always knew where I was. It never creeped, but instead immediately began hunting me down.
- Map View: I could see the entire map...
- Spelling: Your spelling needs to be checked... For instance, you spelt, "Mystic" as "Mistic".
- Stun Ability: I'm not exactly sure what is was, but the Paladin comI was fighting used a spell on me that stunned me permenately. I even tried turning on who's your daddy just to make sure it wasn't obscenely long, but it was permenate. This same spell earlier had stunned me for an strangely, cheaply long period of time. It should be nerfed and the permenate bug fixed. Update: I have now experienced this same glitch 2 more times, this time with the archmage. I assume it's an item, since two Heroes used. Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed.
- The Biggest and Most Galling Problem: As you may have guessed from the title, this is the most annoying problem. If a com is attacking creeps and I walk by, both the com AND the creeps gang up on me. They just forget their current battle and hunt me without pause.
- Inventory: I personally found it a bit obnoxious that I could only hold four permenate items. I'm the type who would rather have all permenate items and never touch an expendible. However, this is merely an opinion and you can choose to do what you will with it.
- Hotkeys: Several abilities have contradictory hotkeys. See the next post for specific examples. (Thanks to 1)ragonspawn for this one)
- Balance: Some people have stated that differant aspects of the game are unbalanced. See below for an example of an ability. It has also been stated that the Blademaster was unbalanced and had an ability that was so overpowered it became an instant-kill move. I personally have experienced the unbalancedness of this game. I start out and am winning against the com. I had just reached level 2 when the com flies back out and it's LEVEL 5! (Thanks to Linkmaster, my self, and 1)ragonspawn for this one)
- Creep\Com Regeneration: These coms and creeps have regeneration speeds that are insanely fast! They must regenerate at least 2 times what I do! This is not fair and should be fixed.
- Item Bag: Dispite what my post below states, the bag does not work. I thought it did because I had several anchs of reincarnation, so I didn't really die. It should be fixed.
- Ring of Invisibility: This is a CHEAP item. It's cooldown is way too short and the coms always use it to escape and go to a fountain where they regenerate at UBER speed. This item should be either removed or greatly nerfed.
- Main Spawn Area: You can't get back to your main spawning area. This is anoying because you can't get back to purchade anything.
- Set Items: The sets items are destroyable. Your opponent can see that you have 3 of 4 items and then destroy the last one, dooming you to a half complete set.
- Water Elementals: The Water Elementals are way over powered. At leve 3, the Mage can summon 3 water elementals that do mass damage and have a lot of health. Also, the coms gather around a fountain of heath abd then just start mass casting the move. They never stop coming!
- Summon Felhounds: The tooltip for the Felhounds ability doesn't tell you anything about the Felhounds. It just says, "Summons Felhounds for the caster."
- Mass Teleport: I am in concurrence with Linkmaster that this spell is fairly worthless. A move like Blink could have a use, but mass teleport takes too long to cast and you rarely have enough minions that it's really worthwhile to teleport them all. Plus, with this, you have too actually have something to teleport too. It's pointless to have minions spread about the map just to teleport to.
- Bronze Dragon: The Bronze Dragon is another cheap unit. The thing flies, so melee Heroes can't even hit it and it does around 100 damage, making it extremely over powered. With this added to it's massive amount of hit points, spell immunity, and the fact you can get it fairly early in the game... It's cheap and should be nerfed or removed.
- Darkness Aura Buff: The buff for Darkness Aura is exactly the same as the buff for Devotion Aura.
Good Things- The computers actually do stuff
- Item sets
- Fun
- Easy to use
- Nice terrain
- Excellent Hero selection system
- Eredar and Pyromancers
- Will have an excellent selection of Heroes once complete
UPDATE: I have created disabled versins of all of the custom icons in the map. Lord Vexorian, you can send me a PM with your e-mail address if you want them. (I didn't think that you would want them placed on the forums) They are packaged up nicely in an MPQ archive with the proper paths to make them work and are all in BLP format.
