After finishing a lot of game play things, specially the AI, I only had to adapt the heroes to be VexHA like, 3 active spells, one passive, and 1 special ability that becomes better with primary attribute.

There are 10 heroes finished, I disabled the choose of the other ones till I complete them

But I guess they are enough to start the beta testing stage.

Vexorian Hero Arena Rules

1.- Each player has 3 minutes to select a hero or a trigger will drop him.

2.- Each hero starts with level 1 but 2 skill points.

3.- Each hero has an attribute bonus ability, it's first level requires level 5, then lv 10, then 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 , ..., 50

4.- As you noted there is no level limit (well it is 3000 indeed, but I didn't modiffy any experience table)

5.-Tomes are only available in the Arcane Library, however they have a long cooldown and the only available are Tome of Strenght +1, Tome of Agility +1 and Tome of intelligence +1

6.- Creeps quantity and difficulty Depend on the number of players, the average hero level and the elapsed time.

7.- Killing a creep will give you from 2 to 112 gold points. Depending on the creep level.

8.- You only get 2 gold points each 5 seconds for staying in the arena.

9.- Each time you kill a hero you get a quantity of gold equivalent to the Hero's level multiplied by 100.

10.- The only shops available are in your team's zone.

11.- You have a maximum of 30 seconds to stay in your team's zone.

12.- The best purchasable items have long cooldowns

13.- You can carry a maximum of 4 non-perishable items

14.- Intelligence points increase Summoned units Armor and attack damage.

15.- Duels are optional and won't interrupt other players

16.- To duel an enemy hero both of you must go to some glowing runes in the top of the arena.

17.- Blink and mass teleport are restricted, A hero won't be able to exit from his / hers / its current arena.

18.- Computer heros can use spells, and buy / pick / use items

19.- A trainning mode is enabled : When only one player enters to the arena, heroes from neutral hostile start appearing, this trainning mode has became addictive and funny, and usually ends with Mannoroth Entering to the arena (Not the crappy mannoroth you saw in crappy hero arenas)

This is my map's selection system, I only have 3 triggers for it.

Edit: Changed it! no more Wisps! and a single click selection system that reminds me to fighting games somehow.

Edit II : changed the screenshot again, last one had some "ortographic" mistakes.

Edit III : Updated it again, since the layout has changed a lot

ALso you can choose a random hero, when somebody selects a hero, the Random hero array gets updated so if you use random hero there are no chances to get double heros.

Edit: Select the Question Mark and click on the random hero button!

Edit: Select any hero and click on the randomize button, way bettar than the question mark model

Also if you select a hero in "the gallery" you are able to see his/her/its attributes and abilities. Well that's enough for today. I may bring more info on thursday.Remember, Your Opinion is important

EDIT: I changed the Screenshot to one about how the thing starts, see the variety of the computer heroes there, each computer hero will learn and use abilities and buy / pick and use items.

I used Triggers for that, AI Scripts always act funny in hero arenas

Yep, here is the final Main Arena for Vexorian HA (Can Somebody help me get a better name ?) Well, if you look well it is a little different from the minimaps in the last screenshots, that's because I change something.

I added a marketplace that sells only Charged ITems, close to the Duel Doors, it has some purposes:

1) It promotes the use of charged items.
2) It improves counterability: The game was getting annoying when somebody uses an invisibility skill andnobody had a detection, now at least there is a chance to get sentry wards or wands of shadowsight at the marketplace.
3) Now players are able to buy items before the duel.
4) It adds some replayability.

I will try to bring there the triggers tomorrow or on monday. IT is basiclly a trigger with a selection event that gives the unit to (triggering player), and a trigger with Order events that Pauses the unit, orders it to stop, and unpauses the unit.

EDIT: I couldm't , was busy on that week, Keep looking at the repository, until you see a thread called "Ultimate Hero Selection System" , There I will post a map with all my selection triggers and abilities. After I release my map, of course...

heh ur hero arena sounds cool! Some other hero arenas are all messed up. Like a +100 to everything costs 1 gold and u get like 100 per sec LOL.:D

P.S. make custom skills and make them cool!:D

Man, looks pretty good. I was wondering if I could help in any way, such as ideas for custom spells/heroes (Ever go to ToB forums? I am famous for hero ideas ^^) or maybe some terrain or something.

I really like the way you do the hero selection, Vex. That's very very nice. You even managed to get it in less triggers than I did. ^^ Good stuff all around. I don't play hero arenas, but yours looks like it adresses most, if not all, of the problems facing normal arenas, while keeping the good stuff. Looking forward to playing it when it's done.

Sounds Great, My only problem is this... Rule #1, I realize 3 minutes is a lot of time, But there is a bug, when a player is defeated, no more tool-tips. I would take that out...
