Anyone care to clarify? I only gave a rough calculation with the model answer to allow plenty of room yet still be able to build all the towers. Now that I think of it, I believe the value should be higher then 192. I'm not certain since I don't have access to WE atm.

And nothing in the rules said we had to be exactly at the min. distance. It said at least. so 500 whould be good :)

We cant comfurm this but as far as we can tell (range from unit) is from the center of the unit. We have used range from unit a lot and it seems to work just like attack range. If attack range was from edge of units melee's would never need attack ranges of 100+ like they do.

We agree with Kuhal here. There should be no need to have the range exactly one tower length. Pick a number close and go with that. If it doesnt look right adjust the number. We are all for intricate systems in maps (all of our maps have indepth trigger systems. The latest has something much like this problem) but there is no neeed to make anything more complicated than it has to be.

kharma yea that is right. I was thinking specifically in reference to what I did, which was to multiply my random integer by 64 to gaurantee 'good' coordinates.

I know, I was simply refering to DataAngel's method of using one tower width as a seperator and the conversation that followed up. Since if it calculated one tower width from the centre of a tower, then towers could accidently build a half tower distance from each other instead of the full length.

We weren't saying that it had to be an exact value, we were simply refering to the absolute minimum value it had to be so that the distance was correct in reference to DataAngel's solution :). And thanks for verifying that Microsoft. The model answer I threw together also uses random integers, sign is such a useful little function :P.
