That's why it's called fiction. Ugh, this thread is getting pointless...

don't do an "another object of power was created"... that just seems too "i'm lost so i'll just milk the shait outa this thing".

I can prolly come up with some ideas on this... PM if interested.

Also I think this might be an interesting contest... like have people provide alternate continuations of LOTR. If a mod can organize this i think it would be cool. (Something like 50 points to enter, 100 points to judge, team of > 3 and < 6, max. 6 maps... ect. set some bounries) I know I'd be interested in competing.

It's only pointless to ask for people's opinions when people don't give them. Quit bitching about it. No one cares that you don't like this idea. You've made this quite clear. Your continued immaturity does nothing.

I'll support the guy in his project if he just picks a better storyline. And learns to spell.

When (if) he does both those things I might even help him if I have the time...

10,000 years to elves is about 80-100 to humans.

10k Div by 100 = 100. So, 90 years divided by 100 (since we used 100 last time.) = 0.9. 0.9 div by 0.12 (1 year) = 0.75. 0.75 = 3/4. 3/4 of a year is 9.

It took the elves the equivalent of 9 human-months to make the rings of that power. Reasonable.

(I thought up this formula as i went, correct any mistakes:)

You should try typing a bit slower then, people will probably think more of what you have to say if it's in correct english.

EDIT: Yeah, that formula is around about right - if you want to think of it that way. I always understood that the elves didn't experience time the same way we do (read the section about Lothlorien and the chapter after they leave, a bit is said about it there. The company of the ring experience time the way the elves do while they are in Lothlorien)

0.9 div by 0.12 (1 year) = 0.75.

If you divide by a decimal, the number gets bigger, not small...

Good point, I didn't actually read all his calculations...

Not that I think they're relevant anyway except to those who can't comprehend the elves experiencing time differently.

It's a little odd to think about you living for 100 times longer than we do right now don't ya think? It would feel like everything was either, really long, or really short...

im just correcting rozes calculations. .9 div by .12 =7.5,, so its 7 1/2 years to make the rings. unless roze wants to change his calculations. or check them quickly before he goes trigger happy and clicks submit reply.

also after almost 90 posts i think i got about 5-10 helpful comments.

But elves live at the same pace as people... they don't go really slow. They just age really slow. So it would seem like less time to them, but it's still 90 years. They spent 90 years making rings at the same pace we live at.
