Hey, hows it going? Ok Edward, i got the wc3c name for the the guy who wants to help with race design and development (man that sounds cool). His user name is: Redesh Get hold of him and plan a way to talk to each other and plan the teams even further. Now for the tech tree...do u think u could add in data like attack damage, armor, cost etc. If u dont ill make them up and it wotn be pretty trust me. lol. Can u also list any abilities each unit has....and upgrades etc. That would be really helpful if you could. Also if u can....make a list of the units for the campaign that isn't in the coalition team. I know i might be asking a lot, but im sure you can handle it. Thnx. Ok, i think thats all for today. |

Doomsberg, I'll draw up those unit stats tonight -- but again, are we talking high-HP/high-damage or low-HP/low-damage? We can fix those in WE if need be, before finalizing the SLK files. (For example, WarCraft III 12-15 damage Footmen with 420 HP versus WarCraft II 4-6 damage Footmen with 60 HP) Abilities, abilities ... ack! *cries* The M203 and Nightvision are items now ... I'm still lacking ability ideas :( also, perhaps we should just have a single level of attack/armor upgrades instead of three? |

By the way, I'm going to draw up a list of appropriate cinematics units ... is there anyway we can create aircraft carriers as fully-functional units? I want that so badly ^_^ It'd greatly help cinematics, and provides for the concept of "SeaBasing" -- exchanging speed and fixed-wing aircraft launching (by removal of the engines and steam catapults) in return for the cargo space, aircraft space (UAVs, STOL planes, helicopters, and even C-130 Hercules airliner-size transports) and supplies needed to become a long-term floating airbase for special operations troops, flying in supplies and evacuating casualties. How's that sound? (The statting of troops is awaiting your decision on high-numbers or low-numbers) |

Thats good to hear that ul be more active from now on. You can help Edward create the abilities which are so very hard to think up. Yea there will be a AirCarrier in the campaign, well me and david had planned on it. I reckon high attack high hp sounds cooler. What do you's think? So is there no grenadier now? Is it just items? |

Yea it will attack, but it wont exactly be a catapult. I cant really do much at the moment, so ill make triggers for my other project while i wait. |

No Grenadier, well, doesn't sound well, because if all soldiers can use all items and weapons(almost), it'll be more like a campaign-only game, because if a player would depend only on items and units, that'll be a less fun melee game. I suggest units that will be called "Grenadier" and stuff like that, their advantage is using a specific item with greater profeciency(e.g. Grenadier that uses a grenade, the grande will cause more damage) but they won't be able to use other specific items. |

Actually, Moecraft, I'd been thinking of a new item/unit classification system that would restrict the M203 to be carry-able only by certain infantry - neither of the Sniper School units would be able to use it, and I doubt that the SAW gunner would be able to. Heck, the only ones (if I were really restricting it) who might use it would be the Rifleman, the Ranger, the Green Beret, and possibly the SEAL ... |

Ok...today i tinkered with the abilitymetadata.slk file to try and make a item classification type ability thing..? What i done is added a data field to inventory carry so that u enter the idcode of the items that the unit can carry. It all looks correct in the files, but i extremely doubt that it will work like the way i want. Either the game wont accept it, or instead it will somehow make the unit create those items randomly. Ill test soon, but i think i may have to stuff around with the .slk files a bit more, but it will be awesome if i can get it working. Stuff ul never see in any other wc3 total conversions. Anyway we sorta have a crisis on our hands..well i think. There is still a crap load of stuff to be done and i wanted the demo finished by the holidays...4 weeks, but that wont be happening. Heres what still needs done. 1 - Many models are still not even close to being completed. 2 - No models have any skins yet. We really need a skinner. 3 - We haven't made the voices for the units yet. 4 - The UI still needs create...just the console and menu border. 5 - The tech tree isn't finished yet for the coalition team. 6 - No icons have been made (except Air Strike) 7 - I still have to write all of the slk files and edit the .j files. 8 - The terraining hasn't been done. Now i know half of those things require other htings to be done first, but im just saying that there is a lot of stuff to be done. If anyone can skin for us it would be greatly appreciated, or if u know someone...plz tell us. Thnx. |

Well, what an interesting day... I tried getting our plan for the item carrying idea to work, but so far sadly enough to no avail. I stuffed around for like 3 hrs trying all different ideas and some worked better than others but nothing worked quite right. The closest i got was having an extra field show up in the w/e for the inventory ability which isted the items which i could choose. but when i tried it ingame it done nothing which i had already guessed.Anyway...im guessing that by now i have already lost most of u's...lol, but im not out of ideas yet and i will try more tomorrow. |

Yea thats fine..its all needed for a great game.... Anyway i tried some more ideas today. It was kinda crazy and i spent like 4 hrs on it..(too long indeed) but i have got somewhere. --> Ok i have made the spell data for the move but when i try it....it wont let me pick up any items... :( . So i thought for a while... and discovered that the rest of it has to be done in the scripts. I tinkered around but haven't quite figured out what needs to be changed yet. I think i need to learn more about jass first. But im pretty confident i can get it working...it will just take a lot more time. As i said it sorta worked in the game, but wont it wont let me pick any items up. Anyway il get back to u's later, hopefully with good news. |
